Redstones Hotel ★★★

"This beautifully re-furbished hotel is situated in the delightful, quiet village of Dufton at a reasonable price. The décor is superb and the rooms are furnished to a high standard. The twin beds are comfortable and the room includes tea/coffee making facilities, TV, bottled water and a hair dryer. The walk-in shower is clean with plenty of hot water and free toiletries. The shared breakfast lounge is spacious and clean and serves breakfast to order (no evening meals available). There is also a boot room and private parking. Booking is done by remote communication (no receptionist) although clear instructions and the codes are communicated by emails. I didn’t see a sign indicating the hotel name or the main door entry. It’s essential to book the Stag Inn for evening meals (especially Saturday), as it was fully booked, but we enjoyed having a drink outside (with a bag of crisps)! Some of roads are quite narrow to drive to this picturesque village."

"We had a pleasant night at Carlisle M6 travelodge The reception girls were most helpful and looked after us well. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. Refreshments ie tea, coffee etc were available in room and at reception. We will certainly use this travelodge again as we have done for many years."

"A very delightful blend of historic atmosphere, luxurious amenities and quirky architectural features. We enjoyed the feeling of stepping back in time, with the stone walls, the wood panelling, creaky floor boards and the gothic revival architecture. This place has bags of character and the staff were very accommodating. We will be planning a return visit very soon."

"Spotlessly clean, lovely soft and comfy beds, powerful and hot shower. The bedside lamps had USB A charging sockets, and there was a glass water bottle for drinks, which was a nice touch. The hot breakfast was great with local sausages, but plenty of other choices, including chilled juices. All in all, one of the best B&B’s we have stayed at, you could tell that Angela has really thought about giving her guests the best possible stay."
