"Decided to choose Unscripted for some photos for an upcoming project. The older look of the hotel was what I looking for and it did my photos justice. The hotel gives off an 60's, 70's or 80's vibe which I thought was cool. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The igloo restaurant added and touch of Christmas holiday vibe. Pleasant views of downtown Durham from the pool deck. Overall my stay was very good."

"Very friendly service at the check in desk.Checked my reservation through a 3rd party and explained to me that next time go through the hotel and explain to them the reason for my stay was because my wife had a appointment with the eye care center.They offer a discount rate rather than 3rd party.I had to pay $100.00 deposit which I got back when I checked out that morning.Also had a nice breakfast and made a reservation for my wife next appointment next week.I think we may staying there in the future.Thank you Ron Labriola."

"Far exceeds any other Fairfield Inn we've stayed at (and we've stayed at many.) in fact, it truly felt more like a real 5-star hotel. The courteous and friendly front desk staff told us that the hotel was totally renovated in November 2025. And TOTALLY is not an exaggeration! That was evident from the moment we drove into the brand new parking lot and continued through the lobby, the hallways, and into the room! Everything is new! The staff was obviously very well trained. Attentive, helpful, friendly. Even the hot berserker bar was a notch above. Fresh scrambled eggs, real bacon, turkey sausage ( not very good), and of choise make it yourself waffles, etc. Well done! The housekeeping was also impeccable. Overall, my wife and I could not have been more pleased. This property will definitely be our first choice next time through Durham-Raliegh. Highly recommended!"

"It's definitely the cheapest hotel you can find around Duke. You can take a bus from the airport to the hotel (remember to ask the driver for a transfer ticket when transferring), which costs $2.50 compared to $50 for Uber. If you're going to the Duke campus, it's a 20-minute walk to another bus stop; just follow Google Maps or the transit app. There are fast food restaurants and supermarkets right outside the hotel. These are the good points. The bad point is the hygiene. The room had a strong odor upon entering, making it seem unhygienic. I later discovered it might be due to poor ventilation in the bathroom. Overall, the stay wasn't great, and the smell made me think other areas might not be very clean."
