"We were downgraded our room and not told until checking in that our booked room was u available due to renovations. It was clear the renovations have been underway for a long time and they could have let us know well in advance. 2 different friends were upgraded to a lagoon room room. We were downgraded to twin beds in a very rundown room. There is no power beside the bed. The power is inconveniently on the other side of the room. It was not until leaving that the bed moved and we found an outlet behind the bed. You would need to pull the bed away from the wall to allow for your charging sockets to be plugged in. There is no headboard to keep pillows on the bed, so it needs to be against the wall. The bathroom was terribly. Chipped tiles, chipped door and frame, worn bathtub with spots of enamel missing, a rusted bin. No car parking was available we were told because it was a Saturday night. Not sure that matters when we booked months in advance. Also not when we saw all the empty spots in the hotel carpark the next morning. Unacceptable accommodation for the cost. We attended a function at the casino, so and the location was convenient. But that was all. If we knew the room would be so dilapidated, we would have stayed at nearby Cullen Bay and uber down the hill. The staff did not care that we had booked in advance. They didn’t care we were part of a function that had spent a lot of money at their venue. The breakfast and drink was understandable, but the lack of communication was totally unacceptable. The falsely took bookings from 3 different people in our function group who did not get the rooms they booked due to renovations. Oh, and the critters are cute but out at night time, foraging outside the hotel doors."

"If you arrive outside the reception hours of 8 to 5 you will have to go to the H on Mitchell Street to check in. I didn’t get the text because apparently trip.com had given them some random number, definitely not mine. Other than that, it’s very noisy on a Friday night so make sure you have your earplugs, I messaged them about a couple of things (the kettle didn’t turn itself off after it boiled, there was no hot water coming out of the sink tap), bed was comfortable, location was good."

"This fresh new hotel is a welcome addition to the area and ideally located right near the Esplanade. Its just a short walk from popular entertainment venues. All of the fittings are premium quality and the hotel is carpeted throughout and tastefully decorated. There is a stylish restaurant and bar offering a modern dining experience. The gym is better equipped than most small hotels and there is also a lap pool. The suites are spacious and well laid out. There is a generous kitchenette and a huge bathroom with an excellent shower, illuminated vanity mirror and washing machine. Top-category rooms feature balconies with harbour views. Comfortable furniture, bedding and understated artworks complete the experience. Despite its central location, this area is quiet at night. Next time, I certainly hope to stay here longer."
