"Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! ⭐️ The staff were excellent and very helpful throughout our stay. Even though they didn’t really speak English, they still made a great effort to assist us whenever we needed help. Really appreciate their patience and hospitality! 🙌🏻 For Muslim travellers, halal food is available around the area, but most halal restaurants are not within walking distance. You’ll need to take a DiDi to get to them, so it’s something to keep in mind when choosing this hotel. Other than that, the view from the hotel is beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would recommend this hotel! 👍🏻"

"Turns out some connections really can span three years. My first trip to Dali in '23 led me to this guesthouse. Back then, I remember thinking the owner had so many cats, and that anyone who loved animals must be warm and reliable. And I wasn't disappointed! The room was exactly like the pictures, leaving me with wonderful memories. Three years later, I returned to Dali with my best friend, and to my surprise, I reconnected with the owner and found out the guesthouse had moved to a new location. The new courtyard is even cozier and more therapeutic than before. The room amenities have been significantly upgraded ✨, with a smart toilet, humidifier, and dryer – so many thoughtful details that made our stay comfortable and worry-free. The courtyard also houses over a dozen adorable cats and two small dogs who would always come out to greet us when we returned from sightseeing. It was incredibly healing. The housekeeper was also exceptionally attentive, proactively helping with luggage and recommending local, delicious, can't-go-wrong food spots and sightseeing routes. We even received fruit and flower cakes upon check-in. It wasn't that formulaic kind of service; it was a relaxed feeling that made you shed your fatigue and feel like you were returning to a warm, temporary home. If there's one regret, it's that I didn't set aside time to just stay in the courtyard, enjoy its tranquility, and savor life with a cup of tea. A good guesthouse truly adds so much to a trip ❤️"

"Dali Tops was amazing! The views are stunning up here and the hotel and rooms are very beautiful and modern. The service at this place was excellent, the butler service was quick and all the staff were super friendly, asking if we needed help, giving fantastic food and entertainment recommendations and even helping us with booking tickets and take away when I couldn't order it myself. The hotel had to repaint the lift and the fumes were very strong but the staff were really good with reassuring us that everything was safe and they upgraded us to a room that had 180 degree lake view on the otherside of the building where you couldn't smell the fumes. They provided us with a complimentary photography session which was so fun and my daughter had so much fun feeding the fish. They also provided complimentary buggy to anywhere around wenbicun which made it easy to get around and recommended us some epic cafes and restaurants! The beds were very comfortable and everything felt really luxurious. And the breakfast was delicious! I wouldn't definitely come back again. Highly recommended."

"My stay at the Songyun Cliff Hotel in Dali Ideal State was incredibly satisfying, offering unbeatable value for money compared to other hotels in the same price range. The guest rooms are well-equipped with excellent facilities. It's the only hotel in Ideal State with a heated swimming pool, so you can enjoy swimming year-round. Ideal State is built on a mountain, making walking a bit challenging, but the hotel provides a convenient shuttle service. The breakfast spread was extensive and delicious, easily the best hotel breakfast I had on this trip. The cliffside restaurant offers breathtaking views, perfect for photos. Butler A-Jun provided outstanding service and can even arrange custom outdoor barbecues. The summer weather here is pleasantly cool and comfortable, making it an ideal escape. I highly recommend staying here."

The front desk staff are all very warm and thoughtful, and they even gave me freshly baked flower cakes. The book bar on the third floor has a great view – I highly recommend checking it out. There are also plenty of snacks around the hotel, and the transportation is very convenient."

"Very clean and tidy hotel. Room was clean, stayed 2 nights and stayed extended 1 more night. Good shower pressure. Reasonably priced. About 10mins walk to Dali south ancient city entrance. Hotel facilities and amenities as shown in their photos. Gave a box of local pastries when I checked out. Cons: 1) Same breakfast all 3 days of my stay - pork bun, porridge, boiled egg, cut corn, local noodles soup and hot soya drink. Can’t expect your customer to eat the same food every morning isn’t it. 2) There were construction work going on opposite the hotel. They start drilling 8am, finish around 6pm daily. If you are not someone who can handle those kinda noise, please contact the hotel and ask upfront before booking whether the construction work is ongoing or not."
