"Upper Moatville was a lovely place to stay. This 3-bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms was wonderful for our family of 4. It was beautifully set up, with so many extra touches that was just so convenient -- a fully equipped kitchen, extra charging cords (really helpful when coming from overseas), Netflix in the sitting room, fresh flowers, coffee machine, dishwasher, plenty of fresh towels and blankets, things like cooking oil and olive oil provided. It was beautifully decorated, such a warm and inviting place to be over Christmas and Hogmanay. It was a great location. The unit is 3 doors down from the back of the Co-op, so very convenient for getting any needed food, milk etc. The 787 bus stop (going straight to Edinburgh airport) is only a couple of minutes walk away and it is around the corner from the rental car place and a short walk to the train station. 20 minutes drive to Dundee and less to St Andrews. It was very quiet (couldn't hear traffic or other noise at all) and had a beautiful yard with glasshouse sitting room (too cold for us in Dec/Jan, but could be great other months)."

"We booked to stay 3 nights but cancelled the last night and got a refund. It’s important to balance out the positives and negatives, so the pub is lovely, the staff and food are excellent. We stayed in the queen’s room and paid £150 a night. The room is small, the bed is very very uncomfortable and hard and feels like a very cheap mattress. The sheet are lovely, the quilt needs replacing, the mattress kept us awake and is really not good enough. There is no wardrobe only a coat hook with hangers which is not appropriate if you are staying more than a night. There is a big mark (1-2 feet long) on the ceiling looks like a leak. The bath is lovely and the bathroom is lovely too. Unfortunately the heating stopped working on our second night and the room was freezing due to the stone walls and no heating, we were freezing cold and had to sleep in two sets of clothes. Hence the refund for night 3 as I couldn’t do another night on that bed. I did complain and got a refund for the third night. My feedback is this, if you are going to charge £150 a night then you must have a very good mattress, heating, paint the marks on the ceiling and ensure the heating works and pop a wardrobe unit in. The hotel a few doors up is half the price, so if you are selling luxury then the bed and comfort level is significant."

"Upper Moatville var et smukt sted at bo.Denne 3-bedroom enhed med 2 badeværelser var vidunderlig for vores familie af 4. Det var smukt opstillet, med så mange ekstra toucher, der var lige så bekvemt -- en fuldt udstyret køkken, ekstra opladningsbånd (sandt nyttige, når de kommer fra udlandet), Netflix i stuen, friske blomster, kaffemaskine, vaskemaskine, Der er masser af friske håndklæder og garderobe, ting som madlavning olie og olivenolie.Det var smukt dekoreret, så varmt og indbydende sted at være over jul og Hogmanay.Det var en stor beliggenhed. Enheden er 3 døre ned fra bagsiden af Co-op, så meget bekvemt for at få alle nødvendige fødevarer, mælk osv. Busstoppestedet 787 (som går direkte til Edinburgh lufthavn) er kun et par minutters gang væk, og det er omkring hjørnet fra lejebilen og en kort gåtur til togstationen.20 minutters kørsel til Dundee og mindre til St Andrews. Det var meget stille (kan ikke høre trafik eller anden støj på alle) og havde en smuk gård med glashus opholdsrum (for koldt for os i december/januar, men kunne være store andre måneder)."
