"Absolutely great hotel which we loved and would return to. There are some things worth knowing: - The hotel seems to attract an active clientele. The gym is great, but packed at 8/9am and very quiet for the rest of the day. It would be good if they could unlock all parts of the gym early so thet it can all be used at the busy hours. 75% of the space (everything except the weight/cardio room) is locked until the host arrives. - There are more possibilities for exercising outside the hotel (biking/running) but the hotel seems to actively discourage it (bad idea to run outside the hotel). Is this a liability issue? Admittedly the options probably require a short drive (running in the rice fields is stunning) but the hotel staff seem averse to it - The food is excellent at all the hotel’s restaurants. Much higher standard than I expected, and as good as any comparable hotel I can think of. It is worse making bookings ahead of time if you are coming in season. We arrived with nothing, and got what we wanted after a bit of work. Jacare, Mesa and Cavalarica in Comporta were also excellent. Everywhere was very fairly prices compared to a comparable level in the Med. - Beach club is gorgeous. Easy to get front row beds in July IF you are there by 11am. The restaurant is great. - Car charging is easy (by relatively pricey). We got given an EV as an upgrade at the airport, and once I had mastered the MIIO app, it worked ok. You really should have a car here. Distances aren’t far but parking is easy and flexibility was appreciated. 
Stand out things: - The staff. Just wonderful. Natural, friendly, professional…. Great - Food Circle. Not my sort of thing in principle (nearly 4 hours with 12 strangers with multiple small course). BUT the food was exquisite and worth every Euro. - Wine tasting. The Sommelier is a lovely guy and we sir enjoyed learning and tasting. A real pleasure and an excellent intro to a less-known market (and why it is less known is well explained… nothing to do with the quality!). - We had Padel lessons. What a blast, and such an engaging pro.
 If there were one recommendation for improvement it would be to build a lap pool. There is almost no opportunity to swim here, which is sad when you have the ocean (too rough) and many many individual pools plus a couple shared pools. None have the dimensions for laps."

"Chose Spatia after reading reviews of similar Comporta area wellness resorts and not for one moment did we regret our choice. The resort is sensitively designed and almost hidden amongst tall pines and eucalyptus trees. A feeling of peace and serenity abounds as you allow nature to embrace you. Our room was spacious, cool and exquisitely designed with a terrace open to the surrounding woodland: a hammock was hung across the patio. Complimentary wine, pastries and fridge contents provided a welcoming touch. The public areas are designed in the same cool understated way with the accent on relaxation and comfort. Two pool areas are havens of peace; low shrubs and fine grasses fringing these areas wave enticingly in the breeze. Your breakfast buffet is laid out beautifully and -although the food isn’t Spatias strongest quality- there is a kitchen open throughout the afternoon and evening providing decent fare. Buggies or bicycles are available to move you around the estate and there are courts, spa and gym facilities too. Spatia Comporta is a place for de-stressing, relaxing and unwinding; it delivers in spades!"

"We were terrified to book with all the nasty comments. But to be truthful there was only one other place called Sublime and they had a 3 night minimum which did not work in our plans this journey. From the time we walked in the staff was welcoming. The property could easily be considered a wellness spa as its beautiful and relaxing with lots of places to walk and see their garden. The restaurant on property was truly excellent and the provided breakfast had all freshly baked breads and treats along with great fruit and eggs to made to order. One complaint here is coffee service. They make to order but cannot keep up with the flow. A cup of coffee takes 15 minutes every time. Make fresh pots and fix this broken system. My only other complaints are minor. The room was nice but the throw rug on the floor (which could be replaced for $50) wasn't a little dirty it was disgusting which did not align to the rest of the room which was a bit older, but nice. The other issue is a design flaw as some mentioned. You share a hallway in some cases (ours) and the room across from you has paper thin walls and you can hear everything going on. Despite these little things I had to give this place 4 stars as we both felt very relaxed and wish we could have stayed longer"
