Fuego Lodge ★★★

"Set in beautiful gardens up a side road (with parking), this lodge is brilliantly located (if you have a car) to explore the beaches and villages of the southern Nicoya area. Our room was right opposite the warm pool, with loungers and tables and chairs. There was plenty of storage space for clothes, a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. Yes, there is a new apartment being built over the road, but the work is being done during the day and mostly by hand (it’s not like a massive construction site on the Costa del Sol!) and it did not bother us at all. The room stayed cool (with the A/C) and almost completely bug free (the door fitted really well). We enjoyed watching squirrels and humming birds just outside our room (No. 5 a quadruple room with two double beds). The breakfast choices were all delicious (we tried them all!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Special thanks go to Ania, who gave excellent advice about our journeys to and from the lodge and who recommended some fantastic restaurants. The yoga deck was an added bonus, with daily classes; Carlotta’s flow in particular, was Devine."

"Blev i logi i en uge og havde en smuk, stressfri oplevelse omgivet af natur, yoga og eventyr. Lejlighederne var, hvad jeg ville kalde "bogie rustik" komfortable og tankevækkende designet med AC, loftsfans, åbne brusere og et køkken. At falde i søvn i junglens lyde og vågne op til aber, der spiller i træerne, var ren magi.Den smukke grønne pool blandede sig perfekt med det naturlige miljø og var altid glimrende ren, ligesom alle overnatningssteder. Maden var frisk, sund og helt fantastisk. Mens jeg ikke deltog i en formel tilbagetrækning, var jeg heldig nok til at nyde yoga klasser og en utrolig flydende lydbad meditation erfaring under min ophold, hvilket gjorde rejsen endnu mere speciel. De fleste af dem er ejerne, Kristen & Donavan virkelig dejlige venlige, ægte og smukke mennesker, der skaber en sådan velkommen atmosfære. Uanset om du leder efter en fredelig getaway eller håber at deltage i en fantastisk yoga tilbagetrækning, er dette det perfekte sted at samle, forfriske, forbinde med naturen og genindlæse din sjæl."

"I think your experience will vary depending on which room you have. We had a roadside room which was very noisy. Room itself was clean, shower great, pillows and mattress ok. Hotel is in good location for beach with a few restaurants and a supermarket close by."

"This is my third time staying at the resort. I absolutely love it here, it’s right on the beach. Our bungalow was spacious. The staff is definitely the best, friendly, helpful and fun. Food is great! And the surfing in front of the resort is spectacular. Will definitely be returning 😊"

"Nice, large cabin with comfortable bed, AC, decent sized fridge, good bathroom facilities, good beach towels. Nice pool as well with girl birding from the pool deck. Good gallo pinto breakfast as well. The place needs some upgrading. Having beach chairs provided was great but they really needed to be replaced. The door to the toilet would not stay shut. The location was really good, right across the street from a beach access. El Facon restaurant next door was excellent. The supermarket and the best soda in Sta.Teresa were a few minutes walk away. We would not go back to Santa Teresa. The beach is marvellous but the town is dusty, crowded with tourists, and chaotic. This place seems to be for self-concerned flat-bellied 20-somethings."
