"Our stay at Tateshina Ai was nothing short of perfection. Located in a quiet, serene forest setting, this ryokan offers a genuinely peaceful retreat from the city. The entire property is beautifully decorated with stunning artwork, creating a calm and authentic atmosphere. We stayed in a Japanese style room with its own private open-air onsen bath, which allowed us to soak while taking in the beautiful seasonal views of the garden. The highlight was definitely the breakfast and dinner—every dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and showcasing fresh, seasonal local ingredients. The hospitality was flawlessly warm and attentive. We cannot wait to return!"

"Reasonably priced, 8,800 yen including two meals. It's not exactly frugal, but the meals are a set course and they serve hot food. The rooms are clean, and there are no trash cans, so you have to take your trash home with you. Above all, it's great that you can use the hot springs 24 hours a day. Make sure to listen carefully to the instructions on how to use the bath. 😆 Amenities include bath towels, which are 300 yen to rent, and face towels and toothbrushes, which you can request and check if they're free. Is it worth it for that price? The owner is friendly."

"I stayed here for one night in September. It is one of the hotels in Tokyu Resort, and the hot spring is in a separate building. It is a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel, but there is also a shuttle bus service available, so you don't have to worry about bad weather or cold days. The hotel was built many years ago, and although the facilities are old, they are well maintained and there are no particular inconveniences or concerns. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had a French course for dinner. Everything looked and tasted wonderful. I was concerned about the water glasses used in the restaurant and asked the staff about it. Breakfast is not a buffet, but a choice of Western or Japanese set meals. I chose the Japanese set meal, and there was a sufficient amount and variety of side dishes. I would like to visit this hotel again next time."

"The facility itself is new, and the room with a private hot spring bath was comfortable. However, the front desk staff were unenthusiastic from the moment we arrived, and for some reason, we kept hearing doors opening and closing repeatedly between 2 and 3 a.m. (presumably the sound of employees coming and going?), which was so noisy that we couldn't sleep. We ate at the attached Italian restaurant, but they forgot our cutlery and made many careless mistakes when we ordered, so I would say the service was not good. The food was delicious, which made it all the more disappointing. I don't think I'll be staying there again."

"It was a pension located in a very quiet forest. The couple's thoughtfulness and the wife's smile were lovely. The welcome drink and cake were very nice and warming. I was surprised that there was no air conditioning in the room even though it was summer, but it was really cool and I slept comfortably. The room had an antique feel and the lighting was cute, and the massage chair in the shared bath was very comfortable. It's a fond memory. Thank you."
