"The hotel is well located, however, it's too noisy; you can hear the music from the bar next door from the rooms, which isn't ideal for sleeping. The rooms are very old and the shower is terrible. Breakfast is decent, only the coffee is awful (even though there's good coffee in the area). The neighborhood is very lively and the beach is incredible and nearby. The pools are nice, but the gym is too small."

"From existing reviews it may be hard to gather a good overview of this property. Our recent stay was our second in 2 years. We have found this property perfect for families with kids 12 and under. The sugar sand is protected by off shore reefs and somewhat of a natural cove, thusly waved breaking at the beach are non existent. Little ones can wade many meters into the the calm ocean. Similarly, the main pool has a beach like entry (0 depth) perfect for new swimmers. Location is near major shopping areas and is an easy, safe walk to Isla Mujueres ferry terminal. Food is similar to the many other all inclusive we have frequented. All though somewhat difficult to secure the reservation required sit down restaurants where all beautifully appointed. The newer sit down (for lunch) beach club restaurant was perfect yet underutilized. The hotel lobby is very attractive, however the rooms themselves are in need to a full soft goods refit. Our room this year, though remarkably clean and plenty of wear evident on the furniture. Overall a fantastic value!"

"The room was quite spacious, and the food at oiishi was delicious. I made reservations twice, and after 9:30 PM, you can just walk in! The only downside is the reservation system itself – you have to set an alarm for 9 AM to book, and spots are gone within nine minutes. Another issue is that the hotel is a bit far from the beach, requiring a shuttle bus, which meant I only made it to the beach once in three days, haha. The hotel service was excellent overall, and the room service at night was really good! Remember to tip them around $5, and your room will be super clean! Lastly, bring some throat lozenges. It might be the hotel's water, but my throat felt uncomfortable every time I drank something, so I ended up spending a fortune on throat medicine, haha."

The receptionist insisted they weren't. They ask for a lot of tips, but that's optional – you can tip if you want, or not if you don't. It's true that at first the service is excellent, but as the days go by, if you don't tip, you tend to receive less attention. Our room safe stopped working because its battery died, but they fixed it quickly, and we were able to retrieve our belongings."

The only extremely negative part of our experience was an invitation we accepted for a 'beach membership' promotion. It wasted a lot of our time. A short, bald man got very aggressive with me because I didn't take what he was offering. They push you to make a decision on the spot, and we felt truly uncomfortable with the whole situation.
