"This place is a sham! First off they approved early check in and when we got there they said it wasn’t ready so we had to wait around. There were people cutting the trees all day which was so noisy and defeated the calming Retreat we wanted. The pool had so many dead bugs in it we didn’t want to swim. The hot water in the room was non existent and the water pressure was a trickle. We could hear every single thing the people next door did, from talking to showering and using the restroom. It’s much further from the main road than 1 mile and they don’t offer any beverages, snacks etc for sale. When we asked to leave a day early because we weren’t happy and didn’t want to endure more cold showers and hearing the neighbors they denied us a refund. We checked out by 10am and left the room in tip top shape. We had ******* contact them and they still denied us a refund. We wasted $244 but only wanted a refund for the 1 night we didn’t stay. This place is nothing as advertised! The owners are rude when they don’t like what you have to say. The walkways are rock and mud, the wooden slats on the way to the rooms feel like they are going to snap at any moment. The bedding smelled like it was washed in dirty water and the mosquito nets around the bed were old and dirty. Stay far far away from this place!"

"Just on the way to the airport after staying two weeks here! I cannot recommend this place highly enough . The rooms are lovely great comfy bed and spacious. Room was cleaned beautifully daily. Above all though a massive shout out to sebastian and javier these guys just go the extra mile with everything nothing was too much trouble so thankyou both you really helped to make our stay unforgettable🥰best wishes the Dennis family xxx"

"Apart from its location, which is about a 45 minute walk from the central town, Playa Blanca and the National Park, this is a pleasant stop, with clean well appointed cabins in the Eco category of reducing one’s carbon footprint. This of course means no AC, and the room gets sweltering hot, but by early morning cools down appreciably. Beautiful garden surroundings belie the constant hum of traffic on the nearby highway. Great communication from the management, although please note, there is no reception desk. Quite expensive considering the distance from town."

"First and formeost, much love to Gaia, our host. She is one of those quiet professionals who gets things done and doesn't make a fuss. Yet everything falls into place with little overt effort. The facility is perfect, charming, rustic, and definitely built with the environment in mind. If you are in Cahuita for adventures, this spot will welcome you after a long day out with an inviting hammock on its generous patio. Plus our unit had a small, functional kitchen with a four burner propane stovetop and full-size (for Costa Rica) fridge. Beds were comfy, a/c cool, and the windows allowed for a breeze during the day. Shower big enough for a big dude, we enjoyed being indoors as much as out. If you pick this place, you'll likely want to come back. We sure will. Thanks to all the staff and their commitment to preserving their beautiful environment."
