"This was our second time at Bude Holiday Resort and we were looking forward to the trip. Enroute I missed a call from them, so I called them back and they advised the original 3 bedroom unit we had booked had an issue and were we ok if they moved us to a two bedroom lodge. Being advised that they were the same level (we had booked an Indulgence lodge) that was fine as there was only the two of us. We arrived, reception staff were great and we were given information about the site etc. We got to the lodge and all looked great, very clean and very presentable albeit there was things missing. Glasses were bought to us within minutes but there was no oven tray, bread knife or frying pan (we didnt need them so didnt ask ) but its basic stuff i would expect in a basic lodge let alone an indulgent lodge. We went to the bar on the evening to be met with very friendly and welcoming staff and was made to feel welcome. The lodge itself, after using it over the weekend I question if it was an Indulgence lodge that we originally booked or a level below. The indulgence lodge we previously booked (2024) was luxurious and very comfortable (albeit the bed was awful) however the Indulgence lodge we had this time didnt seem to be the same level eg no tv in the bedroom and once again the bed was really uncomfortable. There was silly things too like no where to hang your towels in either bathroom and the curtains across the french windows didnt fit and left a gap of at least 18 inches open. On the basis of the above I wouldnt return again as the little things all add up but the main thing is the bed so was bad it affected my back. Location was great, been a 25 minute walk into Bude with Sainsburys just up the road. Overall, nice stay, nice lodge but could be improved and a great park but I was hoping the first time with a uncomfortable bed was a one off but this time around it was just as bad and had a massive on our comfort."

"Absolutely awful experience and disgusting customer service. Paid for the tree house which after one night was leaking from the rain so we had to be moved (we were not informed before hand that this could leak in bad weather and there is electrics in the room with no signs telling you not to move them due to water etc), the owners were ‘in town’ when we called so had to wait around for them to arrive back to see the situation, they were not surprised and it was immediately clear this happens a lot (looking into reviews afterwards it definitely does) so we were offered to move to a pod but had to wait 2 hours for it to be cleaned, we then received a text where we were offered £15 back from the £375 we had spent even tho we now had a cheaper accommodation and less appliances than we had paid for. When we disputed this one when leaving and asked for the £60 difference in cost between a pod and the treehouse, We were told ‘they can’t control the weather’, ‘if you were on a boat you would expect to get wet’, ‘you’re staying in a treehouse what do you expect’, you chose to move to the pod, you could have stayed in the treehouse’.. let me add here that there was torrential rain this weekend and a literal thunderstorm, the tree house was leaking, swaying and banging.. it would not have been safe or comfortable to be there, in the space of 10 minutes rain we already had to place a jug down and 2 towels to stem the leak. We spent 20 minutes making perfectly valid points and explaining why we felt £15 was not an adequate refund for a holiday that we had paid almost £400 for and then not received as advertised. The owner couldn’t have cared less, did not apologise once, called my partner stupid and then CALLED THE POLICE FOR HARASSMENT!! I have never in my life received such disgusting service, luckily I was recording the entire conversation, not a single aggressive word was said, no threats, no swearing, just a couple who were asking for the £60 difference back for staying in a pod (which would have cost £315) instead of a treehouse (which cost £375). We waited for police to arrive but unfortunately I had to get back home for work, have not heard anything yet as this was yesterday but I assure you I will be following this up."
