"It's hard to believe this type of establishment still exists in the Ibis chain. What is Accor doing? Tiny ground-floor rooms, tiny bathrooms and poorly designed shower walls, poor bedding. What a deplorable image of the French hotel industry. The parking lot is also too small, not enough spaces, and not locked at night, despite what reception claims."

"The Maison Sumiane is an oasis of calm and loveliness! We stayed in the Chambre Mahaut for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. The room is large and very comfortable. The pool is beautifully maintained and the perfect place to read, swim and enjoy a glass of rosé (or two!). The surrounding garden is beautiful with an area to try your hand at pétanque. The breakfasts are delicious. In addition to the freshly squeezed juice, bread and viennoiseries, we also enjoyed the cooked breakfast each morning for a small supplement. Guillaume is truly the perfect host; attentive, responsive and so helpful with ideas as to what to do in the region. Although the town of Brignoles itself is a tad run down, it has the bones of what was once a picturesque town. However, it is perfectly situated for day trips to places such as the Verdon Gorge, Cotignac and Bormes-les-Mimosas. There are a small number of restaurants available in Brignoles but booking ahead is a good idea. I highly recommend the Maison Sumiane and would absolutely rebook. Merci beaucoup, Guillaume !"
