"Overrated old style hotel, cheap & greedy management style. No coffee nor espresso machine in the room, spa access charged 32€ etc … Restaurant menu @ Michelin prices but no food appealing there. I left the table without ordering as it was so mediocre. Noisy housekeeping who came into my room at 7 AM, no excuse received though. It’s more of a 4 star hotel by international standards. I bet you can get better value for money with a Airbnb on the waterfront."

"MUST READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS HOTEL Short and painful facts for future guests: Check-out is at 10:00 AM. Want to leave at 11:00 or later? They charge €10 per hour. It feels like a penalty, not hospitality. Breakfast costs €10 — don’t waste your money. It’s disgusting. Low quality, miserable selection, and unsafe hygiene. You’ll regret every bite. Want to use the facility (sauna, etc.)? €50–70. Nothing is included. Everything is a paid add-on trap. My stay at Hotel Modena was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. The breakfast was a complete scam. The food was vile, poorly prepared, tasteless, and served in questionable conditions. Hygiene was clearly ignored. The buffet looked depressing, but tasting it was a different level of pain. €10 for this? No thanks — they should pay guests to eat that. Service was bottom-tier. Staff were rude, unwilling to help, and acted like guests were a disturbance. No standards, no courtesy, no competence. The location is awful. Far from the city, inconvenient to reach anything useful, and falsely marketed as acceptable. If your goal is to enjoy Bratislava or even move around comfortably — forget it.
