"I booked a room at Protea Blantyre for a few work meetings. The staff here is extremely helpful and kind, and the facilities are clean and comfortable. The wifi, however, was quite slow which was a problem for work. I also developed some pretty bad gastrointestinal issues immediately after eating lunch here, which lasted for more than a day. The food itself also wasn't good - I had a salad that was so drenched in dressing it was uneatable. I'm glad for that, though, as I probably would have gotten even sicker if I had finished it."

Crossroads Hotel Blantyre

"I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay again. Staff are friendly and responsive by email. I got an airport pickup for $30. The room and bathroom were very spacious and even came with a tub! The breakfast is an extensive buffet—not to my taste but I think the locals like it. As for clean food, you can get fresh fruit, coffee with milk, nuts, cucumber and boiled egg. There’s a nice lobby where you can hang out and charge your phone. There is a restaurant inside the hotel but I didn’t eat there. There is an ATM right outside the hotel and inside the mall. I had a room that faced the back side with a lovely view of trees and some urban maize fields. Room had AC and lots of light too."

"Malawi Sun Hotel in Blantyre offers a comfortable and pleasant stay. The rooms are beautiful, well maintained, and equipped with effective air conditioning, which makes a big difference, especially at the time we went. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and their service stands out. The food was a highlight of the stay. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, well prepared, and satisfying. The only downside was the WiFi, which did not work during the stay. Aside from this issue, the hotel provides a solid overall experience and is a good choice for accommodation in Blantyre."

Chinyonga Guesthouse

"This was our 4th visit with a fairly large group of 22 faculty and University students. Accommodations continue to improve. The new buildings are fantastic with balconies facing west and great views. We arranged for dinners and box lunches which permitted great efficiency as our teams visited hospitals, clinics and university facilities at Malawi University for Science and Technology. The chef created a wide variety of affordable good food. We could not be happier with the manager, Chikondi, and her most gracious staff. We look forward to our 5th visit later this year!"

Casa Mia Lodge & Restaurant

"We liked the place and the restaurant where we took lunch and breakfast. The room is not so new, but it was clearn enough and the bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly and supportive to our requests. One bad experience was that the other guest came to our room wrongly and tried opening the door. He tried several times even his key did not work. I would suggest the room numer should be put on the door or anywhere to find easily."

"The room was spacious, and the location was very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the nearby wholesale market. The owner was very friendly; knowing we were heading to our second city, he helped us book a taxi and even gave us a discount. I'll definitely stay here again next time I come."
