"The hotel is located on a hill near Marbella, which is a little inconvenient if you don't drive. I checked in during the New Year period. The suite I booked was reserved for a far-away annex building. The room was very beautiful!!! But it was a bit far from all the facilities, and the front desk also reserved a room in the main building, which was much smaller. The breakfast was OK, the swimming pool in the hotel was beautiful, and it was surrounded by a golf course. It's just that the service awareness of the service staff was a little bit poor."

"We have just returned from Westin La Quinta for a golf holiday and spa. I would agree with many others that there is nothing nearby, bar, shop, restaurant etc without paying for cabs. You are pretty much isolated. You are thus restricted eating at the hotel. Food was mostly nice and breakfast very good. But very little offered in the way of a snack like a sandwich or lighter bite. Prices are a bit high for drinks and dont dip into the mini bar or food in room! Kitkat €5 really! Room was very comfortable, big bed and yes a little dated but very clean. South facing room needed black curtains and not just shutters. Overlooked B and A first tees across the road which did give some noise from the flash motors from locals. Spa was really very good and excellent massages. Highly recommend one or two. Now the golf. We played four rounds here, C&B, every flaming round. Yes A was shut for maintenance Monday to Sunday, so really disappointing not to play the A course the whole week. Maybe shutting Weds to Tues would allow those coming for a week a chance to play all the course. Drinks on course! It was 37° for our 1st round and the 19th hole hut wasnt even opened and if you wanted extra water you paid for it. Never had to in Turkey or other courses in spain. C&B courses were in excellent condition and loved playing them. Staff are friendly and helpful in the main, just a frosty response from the female staff in the pro shop when I asked about playing the A course. Practice facilities need improving. Range but no driving. Putting good but no chipping area. Would we play La Quinta again, yes, would we stay at Westin, not likely as worked out too pricey. Hotel staff great."

"Lovely big apartments but remote! We had done our research beforehand and hired a car and luckily we did, there is NOTHING within walking distance of this place and if you were brave enough to try the hills there are no footpaths here either. But we had a car and were fine to go wherever we needed. We had plenty of space for our group of 5 with each room essentially having its own bathroom, the master bedroom having the best one. Loads of wardrobe and storage but no hangers, literally 2 per person in my room! We went to the China Home across the A7 to buy some plus some replacement bulbs for some of the lamps that weren't working, just didn't want the hassle of explaining it to reception. Single beds are narrow if you're used to a 90cm bed, these aren't. Plenty of towels and these were changed mid visit. But no soap in any of the bathrooms, just a couple of small bottles of shampoo/gel. The kitchens have nothing either, no tea, coffee, salt, pepper, oil etc, which you would get in other places. A couple of dishwasher tablets were left, we brought a few with us so we didn't have to buy a big box and leave it behind. The balcony was big but little or no shelter from the pergola so it was useless during the day. The staff were efficient but couldn't be called friendly but we found that everywhere we went, it must be a Spanish thing. We had teenagers with us and they loved the padel, the large pool plus the games room and they made use of the gym while there too. They had hoped for basketball which is still mentioned on the website but the hoop has been removed. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was good, it might look expensive but everywhere in that region is like that now, it is dear to eat out and we cooked in a couple of nights. There was a good Mercadona and Lidl at the bottom of the hill plus a farmacia and a bar and petrol nearby also. Across the flyover the China Home store had everything home related plus toiletries, beach stuff and sun hats if you forgot to bring some. We had a great few days there but I think the location would put us off returning as you've no option of strolling anywhere in the evening."
