"We booked this hotel because it was in a château and it looked romantic and unique .However there were many details lacking overall. Firstly avoid the restaurant at all costs even though the three course meal was only €29. The food preparation and quality was terrible. Please see attached photos. The salmon I had was overcooked from frozen salmon and the greens were likely frozen greens that were boiled to mush and no longer green. The risotto was just rice coated in some weird cream and had some tasteless pieces of chicken slapped on top. We did not finish the food. They clearly also need more staff as our receptionist was doubling up as a waitress, and we noticed that there were some waits and gaps in service. The room was compact and clean, but the details were lacking. For example, the fixtures and appliances were the cheapest variety possible and didn’t match the Luxe feel that the hotel is going for. The location is slightly out of town and a 20 minute walk to all the main sites in the old town. The grounds were tidy and very pretty in photos."

"This beautifully restored old home was the perfect place to stay over the busy DDay weekend. Michael and Gilles are the perfect hosts, friendly and full of information about local restaurants, tours or the town of Bayeux. Their breakfast is filling and delicious and their walled in garden is the best place to relax after a day of touring. The weather was chilly when we visited but we had the best sleep of our trip in a warm firm bed. I highly recommend staying at Le Clos de la Croix in the center of Bayeux for exploring Bayeux, Normandy or Mont Saint Michel."

"We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. Valerie is a gracious hostess and good cook. Breakfast was nice with fresh baked goods, homemade jams and yogurt, and fresh fruit. The Inn is quiet and comfortable and located near to the sights and restaurants in Bayeux."
