Riverside Apartments & Hotel

"Interesting. Had some great elements, some average elements and some not so good points. There are a number of different apartment types on offer and we had the cheaper non river facing rooms (cheaper). You pay more for the better views, but it is good to have choice. The great - awesome location on the river, near a large supermarket (Woolworths), and other nice venues like cafes and Club. Really convenient. The average - the service was minimal although quick and efficient. The secure car park is appreciated, although a bit tight in some areas. The bed and amenities in the room were OK, nothing special. It had a small microwave which was useful and a large balcony which unfortunately only overlooked a laneway and backs of shops. The room was quite dark with little natural light, and dated, but clean and comfortable. The price was maybe a little over the venue value, but pretty close comparative to what is on offer in town. Not so good - the noisy trucks at 5.30am were definitely not appreciated, albeit out of the control of the Managers. "

Reflections Ballina - Holiday Park

"A great little park, conveniently located within walking distance to woolworths, cafes and restaurants. Dog beach and swimming across the road and lovely staff and maintenance guys who take pride in the park and amenities. The only negative is the site sizes... you literally can't swing a cat and our van is only 18ft! We were in the middle of two other vans towed by dual cab utes and we couldn't all park at the front of our sites. We had to nose our car in partly under the awning if we wanted to park on our site. If one of the 3 wanted to go somewhere in the car, it was a constant shuffle moving cars about. It was honestly the only negative, but annoying enough that we'd likely book one of the other parks if coming back to Ballina. It feels terrible leaving this review as everything else was fantastic, but if you're towing a big van or have a big tow vehicle, its important for an honest review. A re-zone of sites to give a little extra wiggle room would see us happily return."

Ballina Heritage Inn

"Picked this hotel because of the location and we were not disappointed. Very tidy little establishment with great sized rooms. Very clean and comfortable with all the basics we needed. Close to the main street with plenty of food and drink establishments, including a very good RSL club. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Recommend this place for a quite, convenient stay"

Reflections Shaws Bay - Holiday Park

"What a wonderful location with lovely views, and easy access to walking, swimming or bicycling. The pub is right next door too, with family-friendly and dog-friendly dining, and there is a pizza/fish and chip shop and a coffee shop close by. The park is dog-friendly too. Facilities are kept very clean, even though they are older. And the grounds are well cared for. The pedestrian gate codes are tricky to use and the handles don't all work the same way so be careful not to lock yourself out at night and have to walk all the way around to the front boom gate. (Practise opening them in the daylight.) We have stayed several times in our motorhome on the waterview and waterfront sites and would certainly stay again."
