"Very disappointing overall. Seriously understaffed although the two staff members we saw during our visit were delightful. Each was there alone with far too much to do. Our double room didn’t appear particularly clean and we were very unsure that the burgundy coloured bed linen had been changed. The room was not serviced while we were out as apparently we should have indicated we wanted that done! My son’s single room was appalling and he found a scab in his bed! It was not his! Nowhere to put anything. The breakfast was excellent. However, we won’t be going back."

"We stayed at a spacious two-bedroom duplex for two days in May. Our room and on-site facilities are well furnished and maintained in a spotless condition. Th surrounding woods are tranquil and lovely to walk in. The location is about 20 minutes from the the town of Ballator by walking."

"No one on reception on arrival. Ring doorbell to call receptionist. Twin room instead of dble room and on top floor (attic) although did get assistance with luggage, however it was freezing cold. I had to put a coat on inside room. The hotel was fully booked so could not be moved. Told to switch heater on!! Surely if you are expecting guests you ensure rooms are warm and welcoming when it is snowing and freezing outside. The hotel could be so much more. Had lovely interior but no fires on so cold every where and it was 0 degrees outside. A Guest actually had to light fire in bar area. Bar closed at 9.00 pm which a bit early as we were hoping for a night cap after coming from our valentines dinner out at Balmoral. Castle. Might be a nice place to visit in summer as views and location lovely. Breakfast - continental buffet only"
