"Just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel, it has beautiful gardens, amazing pool, great rooms and very nice staff. The food really makes this hotel, we ate here every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is excellent, the portion sizes are large, the presentation is very good and the price is very very cheap for the quality of food that you receive. The location is also excellent, although initially it can seem that you are in the middle of nowhere, actually you are pretty central to everything. Kawasan waterfall (probably the best waterfall in the Philippines) is just a 25 minute walk, if you just want to swim in the bottom lagoon you can do this alone, however if you want to explore the other levels then you need a guide for the canyoneering and can organise this at a very good rate through the hotel, which includes a very good complimentary lunch. You are also close to 2 other beautiful waterfalls that can easily be reached by motorbike in about 25 minutes and the sardine run at Moalboal beach can also be reached in 25 minutes, where you will see an amazing site that you won't see anywhere else in the world. A small motorbike can be rented from the hotel for a very cheap price and they will provide you with the helmets, you can use this to visit Lambug beach, which is very close an apparently one of the best beaches on mainland cebu. The hotel can also arrange a whale shark watching tour but be prepared for a early start to beat the crowds. The rooms are clean and modern, you have excellent WiFi, safebox, very comfortable beds, 18 film channels and amazing views from the balcony. It's a nice quite resort and a perfect place to unwind and relax. The Danish owner and his filipino wife are extremely friendly and helpful, they have built this place from scratch and you can see how passionate they are about their beautiful home. He is a former chef which explains the quality of the food. We will definitely be back. I read some previous previous comments about building work, there is some building work but I stayed for 2 weeks and didn't hear 1 bang. They are trying to improve the resort and obviously you can see the new building, in no way does it interfere with your holiday or cause any disruption."

Selve hotellet er slidt og der var flere ting på menukort og drinkskort der ikke kunne fåes alligevel. Et ok sted, men det trænger til en renovering og mere styr på at det der er på spise og drinkskort også er der. "

"We rented a room for two, it turned out that this room was of indigenous Filipinos (they always lived there with us))), the attitude towards us was excellent, everyone suggested where and what to go and what to visit, helped with renting a motorbike, and with ordering a taxi . But it seemed to us that we were living with a Filipino family (the children were constantly making noise) and the constant presence of the owners bothered us. We stayed for 7 days, but we left a day earlier and rented a room in Cebu to sleep. If you shoot for a couple of days, then it’s good."

"We visited Marika Beach Resort in Badian today and left feeling quite disappointed by the lack of clear communication and overall value. Upon arrival, we asked about the day pass and were told it was ₱750 per person. Based on that, we initially hesitated but later decided to stay and ordered drinks while settling in. Shortly after, we were informed that the beachfront cabanas are only for checked-in guests, which is understandable. However, we were then told that the ₱750 fee applies to everyone, including very young children. We were expected to pay the full rate for our 4-year-old and 2-year-old, bringing the total to ₱3,750. This was not made clear at the outset, and had we known the full cost upfront, we would not have considered staying. We were willing to pay for the three adults and had planned to stay for both lunch and dinner, so we likely would have spent a significant amount on food and drinks during the day. Instead, the pricing structure made it feel unreasonable for what we needed at the time, which was simply a place to relax briefly and shower after using the public beach. When paying for our drinks, we mentioned we might return later for dinner. We were told that walk-in guests would not be accommodated due to a booking of around 20 people. However, when we passed by again later that evening, the resort appeared quiet. Overall, while the setting itself looks pleasant, the experience felt inconsistent and poorly communicated. Greater transparency on pricing (especially regarding young children) and clearer, more reliable information about availability would significantly improve the guest experience."
