Takeda Castle and Sounkyo Gorge offer beautiful scenery; to see the sea of ​​clouds, be sure to pay attention to the time and head up the mountain early. There are no bathrooms in the hotel rooms; showering is done in a private bathroom with a hot spring bath. Because there are few rooms, the bathing area isn't crowded; if you arrive at a slightly off-peak time, it's practically private."

"This place is truly spectacular. There are four full bedrooms, a traditional tatami room where you can lay out more mattresses, a huge dining room, a large and fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area with a wood stove, and a ridiculously nice bathroom with a sculptural tub. The host is incredibly kind and speaks great English. There’s also a Super Nintendo setup for all your retro gaming needs. The location is gorgeous as well, and that includes the zen garden outside the main bedroom (which has incredibly comfortable beds). 15/10 stars!"
