"Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception, and we had to call the hotel to begin the check-in process. A few staff members arrived later, but the initial lack of assistance left a poor first impression. The Wi-Fi was extremely poor and barely connected throughout our stay. The restaurant was completely closed, so we had to go outside the property whenever we wanted food. There were also no clear instructions about the hotel's policies or amenities. Because of this, we were unexpectedly charged for water bottles we requested to our room, even though the hotel provides 1 liter of complimentary water per room per day. Better communication would have avoided this confusion. The biggest disappointment was the swimming pool. It was dirty, had a strong unpleasant smell, with visible algae and mosquitoes around it. After getting into the pool, I developed a skin rash, which was very concerning. The property itself has a lot of potential and looks beautiful, but it is clearly not being maintained well. With better maintenance, clearer communication, and improved guest services, it could offer a much better experience."

"Myself and my partner had the best stay at De Pearla resort. Farah the host was the best. He cooked us the most amazing meals, helped us with anything we needed assistance with and made our trip so special. He even showed us how to cook biriyani! My girlfriend became ill with a fever on one of the days and Farah went above and beyond to make sure that we were all ok and looked after. It really felt like we became part of the family. His son was also very helpful and kind to us. De Perla is a tranquil slice of Paradise that felt like a home away from home. It was always so amazing to come back to after a long day surfing and the craziness of Arugam Bay. We hope that we come back here again one day. Thank you Farah. We hope we meet again!"

"I have stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide – from budget hostels to 5-star resorts – and I have never experienced anything this bad. What happened at Paper Moon Kudils is not just “poor service” – it’s a case study in how to destroy guest trust. We booked two bungalows for my family: two small children, an elderly relative, and myself. From the moment we opened the door, it was obvious: We were not in a hotel. We were in a health hazard. This is what we walked into: Mouse droppings across the floor, furniture, and even close to the beds where my children would sleep Dirty, stained bedding – clearly used and never replaced Filthy, wet floor mats with a smell that turned my stomach No mosquito nets, despite being clearly promised in the booking No toiletries whatsoever – not even soap to wash our hands A rooftop terrace that was closed, crumbling, and unsafe to enter Everywhere you looked, it felt abandoned for months, left to decay while still taking money from guests under false advertising. The beautiful online photos? Pure fiction. What you see there does not exist here. Because of our children, we couldn’t leave instantly – but we checked out after just one night. Staying longer would have been irresponsible. We reported everything to Agoda, who repeatedly tried to contact the property. They never replied. No apology. No explanation. No accountability. Weeks later, the only “solution” was a 15% refund for one bungalow – a number so ridiculous it almost felt like mockery. As a German medical specialist and frequent global traveller, I understand both health standards and honesty in service. This property fails at both. It is not just below standard – it is dangerous and deliberately misrepresented. We have photo and video evidence of every detail. Believe me: The pictures speak for themselves – and they tell a story of neglect, deception, and contempt for paying guests. If you value your health, your safety, and your money: Avoid Paper Moon Kudils at all costs. Frankly, this place should be removed from all booking platforms and inspected by health authorities."

"Vi havde en utrolig ophold på Wild Edge Panama safari-loge.Vi var meget heldige at have ejeren Samitha, en vildlivsbiolog og filmproducent som vores naturalist guide under vores to-dages safari.Logen er i en smuk beliggenhed lige bag dunerne. Værelserne er grundlæggende og meget komfortabel, gode badeværelser, god seng og meget ren.Smuk udendørs plads.Maden var utrolig.Vi bookede fuld bord og havde en fantastisk middag, der førte ud til nationalparken for os. Sam, Kanishka, Madhusan, kokkene og holdet på Wild Edge tog meget god hånd om os.Vi har sådanne særlige minder om vores tid der.Det er virkelig en uforglemmelig ophold."

"Desværre var vores ophold ret skuffende. Da vi ankom, var der ingen på receptionen, og vi måtte ringe til hotellet for at begynde check-in-processen.Et par medarbejdere ankom senere, men den oprindelige mangel på bistand efterlod et dårligt første indtryk. Wi-Fi var ekstremt fattig og knap forbundet i hele vores ophold.Restauranten var helt lukket, så vi måtte gå ud af ejendommen, når vi ønskede mad. Der var heller ingen klare instruktioner om hotellets politikker eller faciliteter.På grund af dette blev vi uventet belastet for vandflasker, vi bad om til vores værelse, selv om hotellet giver 1 liter vand pr. værelse pr. dag. Bedre kommunikation ville have undgået denne forvirring. Den største skuffelse var svømmepoolen.Det var smuttet, havde en stærk ubehagelig lugt, med synlige alger og mosquitoer omkring det.Efter at have været i poolen, udviklede jeg et hududslæt, som var meget berørt. Ejendomen selv har en masse potentiale og ser smuk ud, men den er tydeligvis ikke vedligeholdt godt.Med bedre vedligeholdelse, mere klar kommunikation og forbedrede gæstetjenester kunne den tilbyde en langt bedre oplevelse."

"Absolut fantastisk, privat, fredelig og afslappende.Vores hele ophold på Blue Water var perfekt, kabinerne er søde, rene og rummelige for par.Vi kunne ikke bebrejde noget. Vi blev til min 40-års fødselsdag, og holdet dekorerede vores værelse, hvilket er en smuk overraskelse ved indgangen.Selv om der ikke er luftkonditionering, er fansen i rummet nok, og kabinerne er veldesignet med åbninger til en brise. Rinos er fantastisk, han var så opmærksom og kiggede efter alle vores behov.Han er virkelig venlig, en fornøjelse at mødes og en fremragende kokke. Sudha og dinosaur er begge fænomenale, de sørger for, at hele området omkring hytten er gnidningsløs, de tager så meget stolthed og efterlader mønstre i sandet for gæster.Der er en god forskel på mad, de friske juicer er så smagfulde. Vi havde morgenmad og middag de fleste dage, og Rinos plejede vores smag.Strand er privat og kun et par skridt væk, de fleste dage var vi de eneste der, det er paradis.Om natten faldt vi i søvn i bølgernes lyd. Tak for Blue Water, du gjorde vores ophold uforglemmeligt."

"We had a horrible experience at this hotel. The price is extremely expensive for very poor services. The hotel is very dirty, with a lot of trash all around the property (empty bottles and beer cans, papers, dirty dishcloths, etc.), the pool bar is always closed and extremely dirty. We paid for a sea view room but no room has actually a sea view. There is no intimacy in your private swimming pool: the staff is passing by and looking at you. A lot of things were broken in the room (bathtub, hairdryer, TV, AC very noisy). The food is horrible, all frozen and very bad quality whereas it is supposed to be a 5 stars hotel. Only 1 cocktail was available on the 20+ cocktail list. We were served coke from a 2 liters bottle, not from a personal small bottle or can - this is very unhygienic, and should not happen, not in a 5 stars hotel but neither in a low standing hotel. Staff barely speaks English. The hotel is empty, the atmosphere is very weird, there were 10+ staff working for only 2 families in a giant hotel. I could keep going as we had the worst experience ever, but as a conclusion, absolutely avoid going there ! On our hand, we were supposed to stay 3 nights but decided to leave the hotel after 1 night."
