The bathroom and shower room are very close, clean and easy to use. There are two kitchens, both are very large, very clean and very convenient! Hygiene: very clean, very satisfied Environment: right by the lake, very convenient for viewing. We lived in the attic on the fourth floor, and when we woke up in the morning, we found the morning mist in the lake, which was very beautiful Service: very good, very satisfied"

"I was so surprised to book such a great hotel! My son, who studies in the UK, said this would be considered a luxury hotel there. It has its own private entrance and a very spacious bathroom. The Lake District gets quite cold in the evenings during summer, but the heating worked perfectly. You can see sheep on the hillside right outside, and it's not a far walk to the town. Sitting in the courtyard, you can enjoy the scenery. The owner is really nice and responds very promptly when you need something. The instructions provided via WeChat were very detailed. A truly satisfying stay!"

YHA Hawkshead ★★★

"We have absolutely loved staying in the Arctic Cabin a few times over the years. However, on our recent visit, we could see that the shared facilities have deteriorated. The cabin could do with a blind on the door window to provide privacy from fellow campers seeing in! The toilets ran out of paper in the early evening and was not replaced until later the next morning. The showers are quite mouldy and could do with some maintenance. The kitchen was lacking sufficient equipment for the number of self-caterers. A suggestion... either encourage people to bring their own cooking equipment or offer kitchen sets for hire with a deposit. If the equipment is not returned or is damaged, the deposit is not refunded. That would encourage guests to clean up and to return all equipment. We will come back but better prepared. We love the communal friendly feel and hope that some updating and maintenance will keep this wonderful YHA location thriving."

"The hotel is by the water, and the front desk also serves as the restaurant's cashier. The restaurant wasn't doing well; you just got your key and found your room yourself—there wasn't much service, haha. You can't be late for breakfast; you have to follow the menu's time. Not even a minute late, or there's no food! The breakfast restaurant has a nice ambiance; you can sit by the water under white parasols, or choose indoor seating. It's about a 15-minute drive to the city center for shopping and dining; there's a private yacht marina there."
