"We booked La Serena for a quiet and peaceful week in September. No one informed us of the “fiestas de Moros y Christos” until we were there. The marching bands “battle”against each other until 06:00 am, nearly under the hotel. Literally 3 sleepless nights, forced us to leave. Nevertheless, we were charged the full amount, under threat of calling the police if we refused to pay. So, if you’re looking for a relaxing, calm & quiet holiday, stay away during festivities."

"Dette hostel ligger på en meget drukken vej og ved stationen/sporet. Standardværelset ligger på bagsiden af sporet. Røg muffin, ret lille og mørk. Gæsten tilbød os en rummelig lejlighed med balkon til en pris overkommelig. Dette gjorde pris faldt imod. I udstødningsgasserne med lille havudsigt lå på balkonen. Ubehagelig indretning. Selv rent. Reception normalt ubemandet. Pris/kvalitet dårlig. Ikke gentagelser egnet og anbefales. Desværre."

"Welcoming owners, superb beachfront location with fantastic views, and the best breakfasts. We had a corner room with a beach view for our 2 night stay and couldn't have been happier. We were b and b and the hotel uses an attached restaurant right on the promenade for guests breakfasts. A great selection of healthy and otherwise food. We both opted for the English and they were super...and huge. Great quality ingredients. As it's an old building with historical character, it doesn't have a lift and the stairs are steep and narrow, so the rooms aren't suitable for anyone with mobility issues. For everyone else, book here...it's fabulous."

"This hotel has so much going for it. The location couldn’t be better—right on the beach and just a short stroll to old town. The chic decor sets the tone, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. On our second night, we were even treated to a fireworks display outside our terrace that rivaled any we’ve ever seen—truly spectacular. That said, there were a few things that kept our stay from feeling five-star. The room description mentioned wine or champagne, but none was included; when I asked about it, I was told it was an extra charge. Communication was also a little hit or miss—I had to follow up twice for restaurant recommendations and never received an answer about breakfast options. We’d read from other reviews that fruit and pastries were sometimes offered in the common area, but during our stay they weren’t available. The furnishings, while stylish, leaned more toward design than comfort. The sofa was narrow with no armrests, and the terrace table wasn’t especially practical for relaxing or dining. Finally, the room would have benefited from some basic resources on local activities, which would have been helpful for planning. Overall, this is a beautiful property in a fantastic location with memorable moments, but some of the details and attentiveness fell short compared to expectations."

"The location is perfect - 5 minutes walk away from the beach - 5 minutes walk to Plaza de la Iglesia. Here you find a lot of restaurants, shops and bars. My room was large. Great bed and a shower to die for. Coffee machine and mini bar at the room. The pool area has amazing sunbeds and a lovely pool. I love a great breakfast. The breakfast at La Serena is not great. It is decent. You can not order any eggs like scramble, fried or an omelet. The tortilla is very similar to the one I buy at Mercadona. I think it is from Mercadona. Which is fine with me. Mercadona makes the best tortilla in Spain. I did not try the restaurant for lunch or dinner. I will stay at La Serena next time I am in Altea"

"Et helt fantastisk hotel, vi elskede vores ophold her.Beliggenheden er stor, 5 minutters gang i hver retning til den gamle by eller stranden.Hotellet selv er meget boutique med reel opmærksomhed på detaljer omkring finish og ting som toiletter. Vores værelse var meget stort med separat badeværelse og bruser samt en meget stor, komfortabel seng.Personalet var utroligt venligt og hjælpsomt og altid på hånden med et smil.Et særligt skrig til Stephanie, der var fantastisk og gjorde vores ophold så let. Jeg ville ikke tøve med at booke denne leje igen."

"A really nice hotel that is relaxed, spotless clean and the staff are all really helpful. We arrived at 3am and the receptionist was so helpful and polite. The rooms are spotless and had everything we needed. The pool was lovely and plenty of sun loungers and chairs around. The beach is rocky so bring beach shoes. Breakfast was fabulous and plenty of choice. Only issue we had was that our room was too warm. We called down and also mentioned it at reception every day but it was never lower than 23* no matter what we done. The location is fabulous with plenty of lovely bars and restaurants within walking distance but the shuttle bus that the hotel organise will also bring you to the centre where there are gorgeous restaurants and bars and a few local shops and churches. We are already looking at returning again and I will most definitely be staying in this hotel again."

In the bathrooms there is shampoo and shower gel, in the kitchen there is coffee, sugar, cereal, jam, butter and milk. The beds are enormous and very comfortable. It is located in the old town with a tapas bar virtually next door."

"Enjoyed our stay at Altea house. Very comfortable bed, there is a kettle and coffee in the room and it also had a mini fridge. I really liked the decor of the room, it had a beach vibe. It is on a main road so there is some noise from traffic but it didn't bother us and we slept really well. Very clean room and close to the beach and all the bars and restaurants. The hotel was very helpful and gave us clear information on how to access the property."
