Alghero Vacanze Hotel ★★★

"Only one night. The location is excellent, and parking is easily found nearby. Check-in is very slow, and the process seems to vary depending on who's on duty at the front desk. The room is basic and rather dated: there's only one outlet in the entire room for charging phones, plus one in the bathroom. The property could use some serious maintenance. Sheets and towels are changed every three days, justified on grounds of environmental sustainability, but the bathrooms are full of disposable plastic cups. The drains are clogged, there's a musty smell, cobwebs, and dirt in the corners. The breakfast is definitely not worth the €10-12 charge (the price varies depending on the payment method): both the cakes and the cured meats taste stale. It's okay for one night, but no more."

It doesn't look like a five-star hotel of this era. It may also be a common problem of southern European hotels."
