Fruita, CO, most known for its incredible access to world-class mountain biking trails, is only 10-15 mins drive away. Nearby Moab, UT also has an impressive offering of hiking, mountain biking, and Jeeping trails. If you are looking for day trips for skiing/snowboarding then consider Powderhorn Mountain Resort as the closest option, which is 38 miles from Grand Junction.
