I must say the location is a bit rural and the road quite patchy. But i just love how the host treat us. She welcome us warmly, provide us tea, snack and even heat up our room since we were so late from our town detour. Temperature in Xianggelila is crazy cold, but with the warm room ready for you, just feel like home. She even provide us pick up/drop off luggage at the north ancient gate. The inn even got a best mountain view. Room spacious. I love it. Hope the construction around the area be done soon. It will be much better.

We were given room upgrade and staff even pick us up from the entrance of dukezong ancient town using small vehicle. However we don't know how to adjust the heater for the room but luckily the bed has heat pad to keep us warm. The Guesthouse also provide traditional costume n makeup for cheaper fee than outside vendor.

The best thing about this hotel is the view from the room. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets! I really don't understand why it has such good reviews as I don't think it deserves them. Our room was really dirty - the first thing I saw when I walked in was dirt on the floor and clumps of hair in the corner by the furniture as well as hair on the floor. The most revolting thing was the bath mat on the floor - the parts of it that should have been white were a very dirty brown - it obviously hadn't been washed in many months. The "fitted" sheets on the bed had bleach stains on them and they didn't fit the bed properly as they didn't tuck under the mattress which meant it came loose during the night. The mattress was very uncomfortable (hard and lumpy) - there was no mattress protector on the bed or protectors on the pillows. The walls are paper thin and, unfortunately, we had three very loud and excitable young women next door to us who talked and laughed very loudly until after midnight on all three nights we were there. The room wasn't serviced for the 3 nights we were there and we had to ask for extra toilet paper and water as they didn't put any in on the first day. We also had to empty our own bins and ask them to come and collect them from outside our door. The staff were friendly enough, but they seemed to spend all day on their phones lounging around in the rather untidy and dirty looking reception area. All the common areas were dirty too - the staircase hadn't been vacuumed any time recently as there was dirt on every stair. The place has a very neglected and uncared for feel about it which is a real pity as it could be lovely if some time and effort was put into making it clean and tidy and updating the furniture and bedding. It seems that the staff are very bored with their jobs and have no interest in keeping the place nice for customers.

Service was very warm as we reached late at night and the owner welcomed us with warm stove and some dinner, warm water and snacks. Take note to notify the owner early to assist with bringing your luggage in/out by a small electric vehicle. Room was clean, very spacious with humidifier. Toilet has curtains as doors. Nice view of the city from the windows. We went in May and can get cold. The bed had an electric warmer.

The hospitality is beyond. The view of the hotel is stunning. However, the location is a little bit up hill may be challenging for those who are not fit. But I would recommend this hotel anyway also if i ever have a chance to come back Shagri La this one would be my choice.

PuSu was amazing! The host was very helpful and enthusiastic. Really enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely visit again. Also, great location! And the view from the room was stunning!

The room has a great view of a town overall. My mom n aunt enjoyed it. They offer a luggage pick-up n drop-off at a town gate.

Great hosts. They helped us with organizing trips and treated with tea. Thank you. Rooms are modern with great views. However, some mattresses they have can be quite hard to sleep on.

Such a cute place in a beautiful location! The owner’s are very very sweet and welcoming. The room I was staying in was nice and cozy. In the day time I could soak in sunlight while looking out on the mountains, at night time I got warm from the AC and warm blankets. In the common room they also have a traditional fire oven where you can sit at get warm while trying some of their local foods and chit chat. Just staying in this nice environment made the trip so amazing. I hope I can come back soon again.

Beautiful location and great room. Fantastic view from the room. The host welcome you with hot the, that is very nice in the cold winter of shangri-la. I would come here again.

What an absolutely lovely hotel. The staff are very kind, welcoming, and helpful. I suggest if you are English speaking to add them on Wechat, it helps with communication. The room is beautiful, clean, modern, and warm! My room had a stunning view as well. I wound up staying here twice during my visit in Shangrila, it was the best hotel I found in the area. My only complaint is I was unable to contact them by email prior to arriving. This could be because I wrote my email in English, they may have missed it. Even without hearing from them, I was able to find the hotel easily and check in was extremely quick!
