Luksushoteller i Edinburgh

"Good points: The location is perfect, city centre. Service is above average. We had the breakfasts, not buffet style but actually v good. Al carte style, not easy to over eat.walking distance to a lot of attractions and starting points of local tours. Staff at reception were helpful and friendly. Above average. Check in. Check out smooth. Although my family of 4 while in UK, would book 2 rooms, recently, probably for the fun of the booking staff (definitely felt intentional) or the inadequacy of the computers, our family would be placed in 2 rooms in different floors, this time it DID NOT HAPPEN. So special thanks to W hotel for making this normal request come true. Not good points: Although nothing wrong with artificial friendliness, however, when all our luggage was delayed by British Airway, and there was a reasonable line in check in. The reception staff maybe could cut down the chatting with the guests and focused in doing the job and checking us in quicker. House keeping was below average, dirty glasses were not cleaned or replaced for TWO days. However this was not uncommon in UK in general. Breakfast ordering in the restaurant, orders were missed twice but actually above average in UK. Reminder: The hotel slippers were nice. Available on request, they would pretend the slippers were in the rooms, they would be available when requested Free. Thanks."

"A lovely hotel with a luxurious feel to it. Great service from staff even when we had an issue it was sorted swiftly and professionally. Both the restaurant and the bar, which also served food was excellent and staff everywhere were very attentive and courteous. It would be a good idea to offer the reduced breakfast rate when hotel guests change their mind for their whole stay not just on the day they check in as plans can change as tourists to Edinburgh, especially with the weather being so hit & miss! Especially if they call ahead to book a breakfast. The location of the hotel just steps away from the foot of the Edinburgh Castle is perfect and walking distance to most places. The pool is fantastic but once again, when at the pool, guests may change their mind and want to visit the spa facilities so it may be a good idea to offer an hour option for those wishing to do this. This would benefit both hotel and guests. A great hotel and I would highly recommend."

"Everything was overall very good. The location was exceptional. The rooms were so handy and practical, there was a quite functional and almost fully equipped kitchen and there was even a washing machine. I was planning to have breakfast outside - in a coffee shop or bakery, but i changed my plans to have my breakfast in the room sine the room was like studio and had given me a cosy feeling in the middle of the city center. The only downfall was that instead of keycards, they gave me a pincode (like numeric password) to open the doors and the codes were hand written by receptions and handed to customers just like that. This seemed to me not very safe while it may sound somehow practical to some other people in other ways. Maybe i need to get used to it if this method is going to be applied everywhere in the future, who knows."
