Our cozy little cabin is snuggled within the scenic Wayne National Forest. Conveniently located minutes from historic Nelsonville. A short drive to the famers market, restaurants and breweries of Athens, and hiking in the Wayne or\ the Hocking Hills - featuring Ash Cave, Old Mans Cave and a variety of other waterfalls and caves. Both trail heads for the Baileys Trail System (Chauncey and Doanville) are located within a few short miles, with the trails running closely to the cabin.The SpaceThis is a cozy little cabin snuggled in the ridges of Wayne National Forest. The cabin has a kitchenette with a dining area, two loft sleeping areas, welcoming common area with a wood burning stove. Enjoy the view overlooking the hills while having a fire right outside the front door off the front deck.Guest AccessOur guests privacy is extremely important to us. You can enjoy the quite and secluded space as a single occupancy cabin with your people. Parking at the cabin requires 4WD/AWD. Don't worry if not, you can have access to a private parking spot and shuttling to the cabin.HuntingHunting on the property is permissable only with pre approval. We are bordered on by the Wayne National Forest, which allows public hunting. Nestled in the heart of Baileys Trails, our three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is a cyclist's dream, located mere steps from numerous trailheads. It promises an unforgettable escape with its cozy ambiance and a fire pit for evening gatherings. Whether you're seeking thrilling bike trails or a peaceful retreat, our cabin offers the perfect base for adventure and relaxation. Perfect for those eager to explore or unwind.The house sits on six acres. The yard is shared with camping spots for tents and small RVs and a communal fire pit about 75 feet from the house.Guest access is limited to the house space, and the unfinished basement is locked and off-limits. You can use the glass patio room for bike storage, etc. If you are staying long-term, we do have laundry machines in the basement and may be able to give you access upon request.The house has no TV, little mobile access, but we share a Star-Link wifi with Bentons on the Baileys. This access is ok for streaming music and phone calls, but please do not stream video. Our co-hosts are almost always available right next door and offer firewood for $7/bundle and farm-fresh eggs for $5/dozen.There is a rudimentary patio room for storing bikes out of the rain. 7 miles to Ohio University, cozy and secluded cabin on private road. Renovated in 2019 our 2 bedroom cabin has 4 porches with great country views. The bedrooms are each furnished with a king size bed. Each bedroom has access to a personal porch. To access the bedrooms guests must walk up steep stairs. We offer wifi internet and a smart TV for entertainment, bluetooth speaker, preloaded super Nintendo also provided. The cabin has a washer and dryer, a fairly well equipped kitchen and a 3 piece bathroom with shower. The yard is great for star gazing and has a firepit, wood provided upon request. WE ARE NOT A BUG FREE ENVIRONMENT. We clean like crazy and spray regularly but the cabin has been in the woods for 30 plus years.
