The hotel was warm and inviting with historical touches wherever you turned. Our room was comfy and charming. The hostess Courtney was friendly and engaging and the meals were excellent. Our two nights could not have been more enjoyable. You won’t be disappointed!

Fabulous place to spend the night in a beautiful out of the way location. The hotel oozes with historical significance and the furnishings reflect the period to a T. Rooms are small but comfy. Friendly responsive staff. Breakfast was great.

We stayed one night recently at The Elk Mountain Hotel on our way back to the Denver area from a trip to Yellowstone. We wanted to find a place that was not on the interstate and looked peaceful. The Elk Mountain Hotel definitely fit the bill! Sitting out on the upstairs deck was incredibly relaxing and quiet. Our room (the “Lawrence Welk Room”) was very nicely appointed and had a nice view. We had a very good dinner that night and a terrific breakfast the following morning. The restaurant staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent. It’s a tiny bit off the beaten path, which is exactly what we wanted. Highly recommended.

Such a lovely place with wonderful hospitality, perfect decor and historical info throughout, clean rooms, great sleeping beds, peaceful and pretty setting. We enjoyed checkers in the sitting room and coffee on the balcony. *****The dinner and breakfast which really were outstanding— we had schnitzel and ribeye + desserts. Service and ambiance was excellent too!

This magical historic inn is located near the base of Elk Mountain just off I-80. The town has a population of under 200 and is about as charming a little town as you will find in Wyoming. We stayed 1 night and loved every bit of our experience. Make sure to eat dinner at the hotel. The staff is delightful and the food is delicious! We live in Denver and we will most certainly be back.

Beautiful historic hotel. Rooms are cozy and warm. Love the fact that their are no TV or phone distractions. Staff is great food was amazing. The staff was very inviting. We went for our anniversary and to look for a ghost hunt. We were not disappointed.

The hotel is beautiful and you can almost feel the hisoric vibe. Great rooms, friendly staff. The only difficulty I had was that, on arrival, the building was all locked up and I couldn't get in at first. I did manage to sneak in via a back door though and, 20 minutes or so later, someone turned up to check me in. Probably a good idea to let them know your expected arrival time (I forgor to do that). I would definitely recommend this hotel. Clean, comfortable and the bed was delightful.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay-staff was welcoming, the inn charming and food at dinner excellent! We were so full from dinner we declined the full morning breakfast and they put out a little coffee and muffin tray for us to take on the road. We would recommend a stay here to anyone traveling west.

Bring your own blanket. All three couples froze to death & the owners did not have the heat on in the hotel. I heard others complaining at breakfast too. No extra blankets. Lots of rules & threats in their binder about what you can’t do bit no concession for freezing all night. Not to mention it is directly across the street from a trailer park & they kept warning about locking tbe hotel door because people have come in late at night.
