Hotel Kindli

I recently stayed at Kindli Hotel for three nights. I loved it. The location in old town is fantastic. The room was on the small side but sparkling clean and bright. There are surprising and nice little amenities like, the front door opens automatically when you enter or leave, and there is a wall socket for an iPhone charger cord (no need for an adapter). The staff is exceptional: bright, friendly, helpful. Breakfast is included, and the breakfast spread in the dining room is super. We also had dinner one night in the restaurant, and it was truly exceptional. Someone who lives in Zurich told me that it is one of the best restaurants in Zurich, and I believe it. I would definitely stay at Kindli again.

This is an absolutely gem of a hotel in Old Town section of Zurich, if you have the chance to stay . My husband and I walked all over the city with ease. I cannot say enough about how helpful and hospitable all the staff are. They went above and beyond several times during our stay. The room was cozy but very clean and comfortable. It was quiet. There are some nice amenities. Coffee, tea, bottled water ( note- the tap water there is excellent!) along with some treats in the lobby. The drinks in the mini bar are free. Breakfast (included) was also very good. The restaurant for lunch and dinner is Michelin rated, if that is something you like to do.

This hotel is fine - it’s not bad but it’s not good either. It’s really more of an Inn than a hotel. There is no staff physically present from 8pm - 6am so if you have an issue like we had at 10pm you are out of luck until the morning. Our corner room was clean with lots of windows and natural light. The bathroom was a good size and the large sink had a little counter space on either side. The decor of our room was old school and a bit run down. It seems like it hasn’t been updated in years - furniture with chipped paint, worn out and chipped black toilet seat, thick wall to wall carpet and a room safe from the 1980’s that was terrible. It did however have a new flat screen TV and the shower was modern and functional. The size of our room was good and we weren’t tripping over each other or on our bags. The bed was fine - again not bad but not good either. There was nothing luxurious, soft or pillowy about it. But it wasn’t dipping in the middle or making noise either. The air conditioning took a while to get cool and made some noises but ultimately did it’s job. Our biggest issue was when we came back to our room after dinner we weren’t able to open our safe with the code we had used earlier to lock it. I called the front desk twice and someone finally picked up. I told him the problem and he said someone will call me back. Two minutes later a nice gentleman called me back and kindly explained that the only way to get into my safe that night would be for him to leave his home and come back to the hotel to open it and would I mind waiting until morning. I certainly wasn’t going to ask that of someone so I said we would wait until the morning but honestly when your are in the city center of a major city like Zurich and paying $500 a night for a hotel room the level of service and quality of the room should be A-LOT better. This is the kind of place you pay $200 a night to stay in and you are fine with it but to pay $500 a night for what we got was genuinely upsetting. Really did not feel we got value for money spent here

5 star hotel , with 10 star staff. What an amazing experience, everybody and everything was just perfect, we felt like their friends and family. Walking distance to everything and easy to get to trains and the airport. Zürich is wonderful, and Kindli Hotel with its staff, made this stay such a memorable experience. Thank you

Two-night stay with excellent service. It is a good location if you are walking from the train station. We arrived early and were greeted by the polite and helpful staff. They stored our bags and backpacks while we headed out for lunch. The hotel is beautiful, with a marble rose staircase. Our room was small but had everything we needed, plus complimentary robes, slippers, and cold beverages. The beds are as comfortable as described, with an adjustable head and leg remote. Very nice after walking in the city. We decided to have dinner in their restaurant, and it was lovely! Buffet breakfast delicious too.

We had a very comfortable room, nicely old-fashioned (e.g. armoire rather than a closet, tiled bathroom) but with all the modern conveniences. There was free fresh fruit and Madeleines available at reception, the concierge was very helpful, and the central location allowed us to walk to where we needed. Expensive, but that seems par for the course in Zurich
