Good place nice spot where u can see the matterhorn .and the breakfast good.

Great location with matterhorn view & 15min walking distance from the train station / museum etc. The attached photo of the (cloudy) matterhorn is taken from their cafeteria. Staff understandably busy such as at check-in timing, but are otherwise understanding and helpful. Fridge & kettle for shared use at cafeteria. Lockers available to store baggage without cost - but do have $2 coin on hand for locker deposit!

The place is about 20 minutes walk from the train station. Breakfast was included. I have to do the housekeeping thing where I am not used to it. Sharing bathrooms are limited and small.

Great hostel with morning Matterhorn view from our room. Delicious breakfast provided. Only that u have to arrive earlier before 7pm if planning to get a free bus ride to the hostel. Unfortunate for us, we arrive late after 10pm and no more bus available. Thus have to pull our big luggage up hill in 1km distance. But staff is good, we informed for late arrival then they pasted our envelope containing room card access infront of the door. Thanks for that. Then we asked the counter staff for bus schedule next day. Nearest bus station is Luchre, just in front of hotel. can get schedule from SBB apps (Zermat bahnof- Luchre). They also provide free luggage storage after checkout. Great experience in Zermatt and recommended hostel as long as u arrive early 😀

First of all, this place look MUCH better than the pictures. The whole building is new and well furnished instead of the rundown look on the booking website. And the bed is comfy and new. You just have to make your own bed: mattress, pillow and quilt. Locker is spacious too, with partition and hanger. I love how espresso/cappucino is free flow in the breakfast. And the breakfast has a good variety tho basic: different cheeses/ham, breads, jams etc, enough to keep me not bored for two nights. The staffs at reception were mostly helpful and vibrant in personality as well. There are fridge in the dining room too, which is a very important feature for guests staying in youth hostel. Because saving on food is one of the major reasons guests stay in youth hostel. Another good thing is free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out. That said, there are two huge problem with the hostel: one, the charger in the room. Because the socket is facing down, if one’s using heavy adapter and, even worse, along with a big charger, it’s almost certain to fall. And there’s only one socket on the wall. I was lucky for the 2nd night to switch to that bed, else I had to spend a good 1-2 hours in common area to have my phone/laptop etc charged. To me it’s a design that serves almost no purpose and even arguably insensitive to international traveler. Not sure how they’re gonna fix it for other travelers, but charging is almost #1 travelling need for travelers. The 2nd issue was with the bathroom on the top floor. The automatic light went off way too quickly, and it’s barely sensitive to motion when you’re in the shower cubicle. You have to open the door, and reach your hands out to have it turned back on, when everything is pitch dark. Many including me had talked about it, but no effective action was taken. P/S: From this place to Gornergrat, you have two stations to choose from: Zermatt or Findelbach, the latter is closer and 3.5CHF cheaper, but at the cost of more demanding uphill climbing.

Excellent view from my room, now writing this and waiting for sunrise to show on Matterhorn. Easy 15min walk from train station to hostel. Macdonald fast food & migros supermart along the way. Quite place, can see many stars at night. Most recommended!

The breakfast does not that good but the location is good

The place is clean & Staff is kind and helpful just only one things I would say is they don’t have lift service so need to carry your luggage to 4th floor from the ground floor is really hard. The rest of the facility is good .

Very good service and clean environment Good food and amenities too. Will stay again if we visit.

Good viewing experience.

Had a really great time there. The room was clean, but it was smaller than I thought. It’s close to the cable car station but quite uphill though, I had only a backpack so it was fine, but people with suitcases should reconsider.

Need to climb a little bit to the hostel, but it’s ok for backpackers. Everything is good, nice staff and very amazing breakfast included.

Nice view from the hostel where you can see Matterhorn right from the hostel’s window. But it’s far from the station, had a tough time carrying luggage up into the hostel. Otherwise it’s good.
