La Veranda di Serena

This place is fabulous. We will return and are sad to leave. We had the top floor apartment...its huge! We were lulled to sleep ever night by the waves. This is right on a little beach, We had it to ourselves. the turtles are great to watch from the windows or balconies. The staff and owner couldn't be nicer. We hired a scooter from them and used their tuc tuc in the evening. There are some shops and restaurants nearby, main street in town just short ride away. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious....we had 2 showers! breakfast was very good and we loved eating outdoors with that view! Thankyou! Full marks x

We stayed at La Veranda for 6 nights and it was a pleasure. The host Mr. Chandana and his team made sure that our stay was enjoyable with a very nice breakfast, clean rooms and a very helpful attitude. The hotel has just 6-7 rooms but the location is right on the beach. We were looking for a relaxed vacation in Sri Lanka where we could see the water and hear the ocean throughout our stay and this met our requirements perfectly. We will stay here again when we visit Unawatuna

amazing vacation in privacy. clean, tasty, quiet, beautiful view of the sea. the owner is very friendly. you can exchange money and order a taxi from him. if we go to sri lanka again, we will return to this hotel. a small quiet hotel for those who really need a break from the hustle and bustle. thank you for a real vacation

One of the most relaxing place directly in front of the sea, with a little private beach. Very quiet, always cool thanks to the sea breeze, recommended for those who enjoy the sea sound. Breathtaking views from our room. Mr. Chandana will help arrange excursions. Friendly and warm welcome.

Great beachfront location, less than 15 minute walk from main street of restaurants and shops etc. Poor customer care and difficult to find staff members at any time. Rooms could do with a deep clean and some updating! Electrical work going on during the day with lots of loud drilling. No restaurant available, as advertised.

We had simply wonderful days at the hotel "La Veranda Di Serena". This was thanks to the hotel's fantastic location at the eastern end of Unawatuna Bay, as it was literally right by the sea! Only a small wall separated us from the first floor room from the surf at high tide. The palm-fringed breakfast terrace with a view of the bay remains unforgettable. The same goes for the remarkable attentiveness of the manager of the house, Chandana, who was always in a good mood and fulfilled every conceivable wish! His cordiality and constant helpfulness far exceeded the average guest orientation. His staff were committed to supporting the development of an extremely positive atmosphere. The overall design of the hotel also of the beautiful inner courtyard was extremely loving and original. The price-performance ratio was top. Wir hatten einfach traumhaft schöne Tage im Hotel „La Veranda Di Serena“. Dies war der fantastischen Lage des Hotels am östlichen Ende der Unawatuna Bay zu verdanken, denn es lag buchstäblich direkt am Meer! Vom Erdgeschoss-Zimmer trennte uns nur eine kleine Mauer von der Brandung bei Flut. Die Palmen-gesäumte Frühstücks-Terrasse mit Blick in die Bucht bleibt unvergessen. Ebenso die bemerkenswerte Zugewandtheit des Chefs des Hauses, Chandana, der jederzeit mit guter Laune alle nur erdenklichen Wünsche erfüllte! Seine Herzlichkeit und ständige Hilfsbereitschaft übersteigt bei weitem eine durchschnittliche Gästeorientiertheit. Seine Mitarbeiter unterstützten engagiert die Entwicklung einer ausgesprochen positiven Atmosphäre. Die Gesamtgestaltung des Hotels, auch des schönen Innenhofs war ausgesprochen liebevoll und auch originell. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war topp.
