Charming Castle Hotel anmeldelser

This is an old hotel. Walking distance from Taipei main station is about 20 mins walk. From Shandao temple station is about 15mins. There’s free mini bar for soft drinks and crackers which is good. The room is big but don’t expect so much on furnishing. It is decent for good night sleep.

I wrote a review already and this stay was just an extension of previous stay. Hotel is old, but in a very good location and for very nice price. Staff is very helpful and polite. Biggest problem that room is literally very cold, temperature like outside in January. Must be some heater.

The room was awful. The air conditioner didn’t work well, and it didn’t have a heating function. The humidity was terrible, and my shirt was completely damp.

Amazing Stay

Room was a lot smaller than expected! But bathroom was big and had a jacuzzi! Only stayed one night. Building is old and all inside it, but you can tell that from the photos of the property too!

Location is good. Walking around 1km to main station.

A very old hotel Really time to refurbished

I stay in hotels almost every week as part of my job. There is nothing ‘charming’ about the charming castle hotel. It needed to be closed down and renovated 40 years ago. The bed was clean but the room was smelly, dirty, dusty and old. The blind was attached by Velcro and falling off. No plug sockets near the bed and just one in the room! The roof had water stains, the light switches, which clearly used to be white, are now yellow, the tiles and walls are peeling and everything is falling apart. I don’t expect luxury for 3 stars but I’ve had 10x better for 3* hotels in the past. I’d rate this as 1.5* at most. Absolutely not worth £103 a night. Rip off. Do not book.

The interior was quite aged but I really can't complain given the price. Some travellers mentioned about the cold air-conditioning but it is possible to toggle between low-medium-high in my room with some buttons beside the bed. Overall, it is great value especially for business travellers.

Spacious room. Free snacks and bottled water. Bathtub was great.

Very nice hotel with comfortable room and very good for travelers. Very convenient location in Taipei.

very good hotel with reasonable price

Nice hotel & when late back hotel, there is seafood restaurant opposite the hotel. We love the mini bar & free gifts! Thank you.
