"Even though I booked a non-smoking room at a non-smoking floor, the genius guest next door was smoking (I guess he must have found it repulsive to sleep in a smoking room, so he opted for a non-smoking one so that he has a clean canvas to cover with his nasty habit) I reported it to the reception yet there were no measures taken to force the policy and I had to put up with it. The reception was kind to offer an alternative room (although that was twin , not double as I had originally booked). Why on earth there is a non-smoking policy if there is no action taken to enforce it? It seems to me that smokers are more valued customers than non-smokers. I don’t mind the dated design of the hotel as that one was already expected from the photos, but if I book a non-smoking room I expect not to become as smoked as a smoked salmon when I’m trying to sleep. Sidenote: there was an ashtray next to the elevator on the non-smoking floor. That says it all!"
