The town of Callicoon is about 20 miles away and there are many antique and craft stores in Walton. Bethel Woods is about 30 miles south if you want to see a show We have good cell reception for all major providers and hi speed INTERNET . Also just installed a nice 46 inch TV for those cozy nights around the telly All linen and towels are included as well as basic kitchen and bathroom supplies.The basic nightly rate is for a group of ten people and there is a nightly surcharge of $25 for extra guests up to 20Please note that we have a much improved heating system ,including pellet stoves and mini splits which also cool . Double glazing the windows has made an enormous difference for our winter rentals .We do still use traditional wood stoves during the winter as well , all wood is provided and instruction given on lighting and maintaining the stoves . This is the second schoolhouse on this property, the first one was built in 1867. The Hancock area was once a popular vacation destination and many traces of the O&W railway can be found in the area largely unchanged since that time The garden has a fence around the front and north side and we are dog friendly.We have streams running on both our South and West sides, meeting in front of our SW corner and running half a mile down to the Delaware River where one can enjoy fishing, canoeing or kayaking and swimming all summer long.
