Haotang Shanju GuesthouseNestled in the scenic Haotang Village of Xinyang City, Haotang Shanju Guesthouse feels like stepping into a three-dimensional landscape painting the moment you set foot in it. The spacious courtyard, shaded by lush green trees, is nature’s first delightful gift. A 300-year-old ancient ginkgo tree stands quietly there, its luxuriant branches and leaves embodying the profound weight of time. Every autumn, golden ginkgo leaves fall, carpeting the courtyard in a romantic layer. Surrounding the courtyard are lotus fields, which echo the vast ten-thousand-mu lotus pond not far away. When lotus flowers bloom in summer, the pond is filled with a sweet fragrance; as the breeze blows, lotus leaves sway gently, exuding the soft elegance of a water town in southern China. The architectural style of the buildings in the courtyard is uniquely distinctive. There are not only tile-roofed folk houses of southern Henan with characteristics of the 1970s, where the gray tiles and earthen walls are filled with a nostalgic atmosphere, but also blue-brick buildings in the Jiangnan style of the 1980s, whose simple and retro lines loom amid the green mountains and clear waters. Wandering along the stone paths dotted with moss, you will inadvertently come across a wabi-sabi style tea house. Surrounded by a mist system, the tea house is shrouded in curling mist, as if isolating the hustle and bustle of the world. Here, you can savor a cup of fragrant tea and enjoy the comfort of time flowing by quietly. The guest rooms of the guesthouse take the interpretation of artistry and romance to the extreme. Every corner tells an intriguing story, and every bed holds the warmth of gentle time. As the saying goes, "Each room has a unique view, and each window frames a whole world." Even if you stay in the room all day without going out, you can still enjoy the changing scenes of sunrise and sunset through the window, allowing your body and mind to be filled with natural scenery. In the morning, you wake up to the patter of rain and the pleasant chirping of birds, starting a poetic day.If you want to step out of your room to explore, there are plenty of wonderful experiences waiting for you. The café in the courtyard is a favorite among literature and art lovers—order a cup of hand-brewed coffee, flip through a good book while savoring the aroma of coffee, and enjoy a leisurely and comfortable time. The outdoor camping lawn is an ideal place for parent-child interactions and gatherings with friends; at night, you can also look up to admire the brilliant starry sky. There are even more diverse sightseeing and activity options in the surrounding area: for those who love excitement, you can experience the speed and passion of go-karts or feel the coolness and excitement of water sliding and rafting; for those who prefer tranquility, you might as well pick up a fishing rod and enjoy the leisure of fishing by the lake; if you want to get close to nature, visit the seasonal fruit picking orchard, pick fresh fruits with your own hands, and feel the joy of harvest; families with children can accompany their kids to wade in the stream and fully enjoy the happiness of childhood. As night falls, the delicious food feast at Shanju begins on time. The featured local pot-cooked farm dishes of Xinyang here are made with fresh local ingredients and cooked in an authentic way to bring out the original deliciousness of the ingredients. Every bite tastes like the flavor of home, satisfying your taste buds amid the mountains and waters.Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and integrated into the natural landscapes of Haotang Village, Shanju is not only a quiet haven "hidden in the town" where you can reconnect with your original aspiration after a long separation, but also a warm home "rooted in the courtyard" where life returns to peace and freedom. Here, you can listen to the wind to find tranquility—take a walk, go cycling, have a picnic, or simply let your mind wander. No matter what you choose, you can immerse yourself in the slow life of gentle and long-lasting moments and create an unforgettable memory of your stay.
