Around the village there are numerous tracks and trails suitable for families for walking or mountain biking. The town and Shady Brook is ideally situated for nature based tourism with the iconic walking tracks up through the Great Alpine National park. The Alpine National Park borders the Eastern side of Harrietville and your walk can start from your cottage to Mt Feathertop. Harrietville has many four wheel drive tracks and motorbike trails within the state forest on our west. Only a short drive down the road to Bright there are numerous beautiful wineries, endless nature base activities and various eateries to suit any budget.
