This was my 10th international trip, and I have stayed at various Hilton Hotels and other accommodations in the past. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences of my life. The staff at this hotel were dishonest, manipulative, and discriminatory. I used the kettle once to make coffee, and shortly after, I received a letter stating that I had damaged their old kettle. They demanded $47 for a replacement. When I approached the reception to clarify the issue, a representative assured me that it was just a warning and that I should only use the kettle for boiling water. I followed their instructions exactly, yet they still charged me the fee. When I questioned them, they shamelessly changed their stance, denying ever having told me otherwise. This entire situation felt like a scam—beware, friends!
As for customer service, their treatment is blatantly biased. If you have white skin, you’re treated like a valued guest. However, if you have brown or black skin, they treat you with complete disregard, as if you are insignificant. I have never encountered such blatant racism in my entire life.
Needless to say, I will never do business with Hilton again, and I have no intention of ever returning to Singapore.
