This capsule hotel has such great positive reviews that I thought to give it a shot.
.
But I had a difficult stay in Capsule Bed 224 (Single Mixed Lower), level 3. This capsule is directly
beside the locker and baggage area, which is also used for hanging towels and clothes. It the busiest
part of the room, with guests constantly opening and slamming locker doors, packing/unpacking
baggage, and jostle for space while moving baggage around to get to their towels and clothes — even
late into the night and early morning. The layout forces all activity to happen right in front of Capsule
bed 224, constantly crowded and chaotic.
.
I had asked for a quieter capsule away from the door twice, and upon arrival found out they allocate
me a bed next to the door. Staff were polite and the male staff member was especially helpful in
assisting me with a bed change when I requested it — I really appreciated his prompt response. But
later realised I was assigned the busiest spot.
.
I couldn’t sleep well for 3 nights, even with silicone earplugs. I experienced headaches, fatigue, loss
of appetite and felt sorry for myself for not checking out after the first night and forfeit the rest of my
booking. By the final night, I was in tears trying to sleep. It was mental torture. I was relieved to leave.
.
Approached the same male staff for help to reassign my bed after first night but was told they were
fully booked for next 2 days. The worst part is I saw empty beds that could’ve been reassigned but
were not over next 2 days.
.
While I understand space can be limited, it might help if the hotel could review capsule assignments
and avoid placing guests in such high-traffic zones unless requested.
.
The hotel is only suitable if you're a very deep sleeper who returns late after midnight and leaves early before sunrise.
.
Otherwise, expect nonstop noise and zero rest.
