Holiday Inn Express Shanghai Tangzhen

📍Location: Metro Line 2 (light green line), direct from the airport. Alight at Tangzhen Station, Exit 2 or 3. The exits lead to a large shopping mall called Sunshine Paradise a large shopping mall with a supermarket, Hey Tea, Family Mart, Hot Max, numerous restaurants, and McDonald's. Across from the hotel, there are more restaurants, but a bakery, a supermarket, and a Decathlon store. 🛋️The room was spacious and well-laid out, located at a corner, with ample space for 4 large suitcases, a small coffee table, and a work area. ::)There are laundry and drying facilities on the 4th floor (discovered this late in the trip). ::)Breakfast was included for 4 people. The variety of food was impressive (Xiao Long Bao, Chinese noodles with a made-to-order soup station, Western/Eastern breakfast options) and the menu changed daily. 🚐 For the return trip to the airport, a car was booked through Trip.com, which was about the same price as Didi and took approximately 30 minutes.

I have stayed at 10+ Holiday inn express around the world. In terms of room condition and service (cute robot), it is one of the best at the price range that I booked. It was clean and the shower sets are good. The breakfast is good and many options for the noodles area. The hotel is crowded and many foreigner stayed at the place with employees equipped with good english capabilities.

The hotel is super clean. The staff extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. Highly recommend this hotel.

Our family stayed in this hotel 5 nights for travelling in Shanghai. Big room and clean. not far from Subway station. There is big supermarket (underground) near the hotel. Around the hotel also have the restaurant which so yummy. The hotel breakfast is yummy too, especially wonton soup. All of the staff very friendly and helpful. They tried to communicate with us although we cannot understand Chinese.

The supposedly ‘Superior Room’ has a big wall at where the window should be, only got 2 tiny vertical window panes instead of a big window, very little sunlight. Disappointed with the room given by the front desk. Also the room had a buzzing sound all night, don’t know what machine was operating there… pretty sketchy. However the staff attitude was good. After my wife complained about the room noise (which bothered her more than the small windows) they requested to change our room, but we already opened our luggages and settled so we politely turned down the offer. Else we would have changed to another room. Otherwise it was a pretty decent stay. 20min by taxi from Pudong and 5min walk to the metro (although we didn’t venture this time), the breakfast was decent too. M

Good staff to help. Booked by Trip.com we got feee room upgrade ,late Check out 2 pm , free round trip shuttle bus to Disneyland start 7.00 am traveling 30 minute to Disneyland and come back on 10.00 pm. They have free coffee and water in hotel lobby. The hotel stay between downtown and Pudong airport Metro Tangzhen station walking 5-7 minute Get the train 30 minute to Nanjing Road and The Bund and 30 minute to Pudong Airport.
