Wanhe Zhizhen Hotel (Shanghai Sun Moonlight Dapuqiao Subway Station)

📍 the location is convenient, you can easily take several routes, and it is within walking distance of the metro line 9 and a bus stop. There are also several restaurants and stores in the area. What is not so good is that right in front of the hotel cabs cannot stop and you have to walk a little bit. 👥 staff at the reception desk do not speak English, plus they are attending to several people at the same time and they get a bit complicated. 🛏️ the room although it is close to an avenue, you can't hear the noise of cars, but you can hear the other guests! The edge of the bed mattress is very hard, so avoid sitting or lying on the edge of the bed, as it is quite uncomfortable. The room smelled a lot of cigarettes, the floor felt sticky (even though it had just been cleaned). The corridors of the hotel have carpeting, but it is already very dirty and looks very bad

Overall Rating: 3/5 Stars (Average) The Good: The best thing about this hotel is its fantastic location. It's incredibly convenient for getting around and exploring the area. Another notable positive is the laundry service. It was very easy to use: we just placed our clothes in a bag and handed it to the staff. Once the laundry was done, it was delivered directly back to our room, which was a very thoughtful and helpful service. The Not So Good (A Major Issue): Unfortunately, our stay was significantly impacted by a serious issue: cigarette smoke infiltration. Despite booking a non-smoking room, we were repeatedly disturbed by the smell of smoke coming from a neighboring room. The smoke was strong enough to penetrate our room and was very disruptive. We reported the issue to the hotel staff, but they were unable to resolve the problem or stop the people from smoking. We ultimately had to request a room change ourselves just to escape the continuous smoke, which was a very disappointing lack of action from the hotel management. Room Quality and Value: The quality of the room was average overall, feeling just okay when compared to the price we paid. Would I recommend this hotel? If the hotel can better enforce its non-smoking policies, yes, because the location and laundry service are excellent. However, based on our experience with the smoke issue, I would hesitate to recommend it right now.
