The only real positive about this hotel is its location — close to the Yuyuan Garden and just steps from the Laoximen subway station. Unfortunately, everything else was well below standard.
Check-in was easy enough, and while staff were friendly enough, they didn’t speak English, but they used a translation app efficiently.
The queen business room was extremely small and poorly designed. The toilet and shower area is cramped, and even with the pull-close doors, water soaked the entire space after a shower. Hot water caused the pressure to drop significantly. The sink is awkwardly placed in the bedroom, and the toilet constantly made water-running noises.
The room was equipped with some basic amenities (shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, hairdryer), and the bed and pillows were comfortable. However, housekeeping only replaced towels and water bottles abd emptied the bins once during my four-night stay — no bed-making, no linen change, and no evidence that any surfaces were wiped or cleaned.
Shared areas were filthy — stained carpet, visible dust, items shoved under communal lounges, and one washing machine leaking water onto the floor. The “gym” consisted of a small treadmill and bike both covered in dust.
Breakfast was sparse: pre-packaged noodles, yoghurt, tiny packaged cakes, two types of cut fruit, and a few bits of basic Asian fare hot food.
In summary, this hotel needs a serious deep clean and far better maintenance. Despite the great location, it’s just not worth it. I would not recommend staying here.
