Amara Shanghai

Extended again our stay at the Amara hotel. One of the best outdoor pools in Shanghai. Highly recommended!

The Amara was an amazing experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Soft beds and even softer towels. Even the shampoo felt luxurious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was the perfect place to be in the Shanghai heat.

The hotel was spacious, you can fit 2 large luggages in the room and still have ample space to walk ard. If only they had one more extra chair so my husband and I can sit comfortably. I find the bed comfortable enough, I like the automatic toilet bowl, the pressure for the water was just right. The helpers, service staff was very helpful and polite throughout our stay. They provided us with lots of water to make sure we are hydrated as the weather outside is really hot. The cleaner’s name is LIN or LING 阿姨， she was the one that took care of us throughout our 5 days. The room service food was way better than the one in JW Marriott for some reason. Please order the Xiao Long Bao and bolognese pasta. You can skip the pizza entirely, it’s bad. We ordered a bucket of ice, and there was a young boy who delivered our ice in the middle of the night with a huge smile, he said, “Hi”👋🏼with a hig happy smile and then a “BYE~”when he’s all done. He was so enthusiastic and it made our night. At the lobby, it’s pretty small, some taxis can’t find the entrance to the lobby, take a pic if you order a didi, so the driver may know what to look out for. The doorman was really nice, he helped us with our luggage’s in seconds, 谢谢你 Liu Xiao Xiu. I highly recommend the stay here as all the staffs seems like they have gone through a 5 star training program. It’s one of the most pleasant stay. I hope this review will not lead to a price increase on trip.com. Chang Shou lu has lots of hipster cafe and interesting restaurants ard the hood, so do you research and explore the neighbourhood.

The staff are extremely rude and the customer service overall is very poor. Staff are not welcoming and go out of their way to try and make your stay difficult. Aside from that the rooms are very clean and spacious and the price is very reasonable. The outdoor pool is a plus in the summer, but the lack of pool loungers which have seemingly been replaced with yoga mats is very low rent. Would highly recommend if you are planning not to spend much time at the hotel, or if it is summer and you are wanting to luxuriate in an outdoor pool - otherwise don’t bother! They clearly don’t want repeat business.

Great stay at Amara Signature Shanghai, it is our 2nd stay and we are well received. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. We have special needs such as interconnecting rooms and baby crib and they all provided as requested. We feel welcome and the service is excellent with some nice treatments. Special hat off for the staff of Executive Lounge, it is a warm environment, the chefs cook good food, and miss Una Yang has a good attention with us.
