The cross keys is in lovely countryside on checking in we were made to feel very welcome. We were in Helmburn such a comfy bed I can’t say how amazing it was great sleep. Lots of hot water and I mean hot. The evening meal I only had a starter as we’d been travelling up from Wales and I don’t do well in a car. Truffled mushrooms with a side salad very tasty. My other half had the fish and chips which he said was excellent he also had pudding which was apple and blackcurrant crumble again he loved that. Following morning we both had breakfast which was tasty. Small point a small empty milk jug for each table so we could help ourselves to the milk and have extra on the table other than that brilliant stay would highly recommend

We had a lovely stay at the Cross Keys Inn. Will definitely come back. Located in a lovely village. Walks start on your doorstep. Also great towns to visit in the neighbourhood like Melrose and Jedburgh. Staff is super friendly; lovely rooms and great food! We would have liked to stay longer.

Lovely hotel in a stunning location. We stayed for 1 night. Bed breakfast and evening meal. The staff were all lovely, chatty and helpful. Lovely comfortable bed, the ensuite was stunning. Everything was spotless. The dinner was tasty and the Scottish breakfast delicious especially the sausage and mushrooms. I would definitely recommend this hotel in a charming wee village.

You get everything you’d expect from a lovely country pub in the Scottish Borders. Lovely atmosphere, lovely friendly pub and a hearty meal. The selection at the bar does not disappoint either with plenty beers and spirits to keep everyone happy. The Pale Armadillo Session IPA was especially refreshing and as lovely and cold as you’d expect. The service was a one lady show but she was on the ball and as polite as you’d expect.. thank you for looking after us so well.

Our rooms were tasteful and comfortable (mine had a lovely view of the hills behind), the staff were welcoming and the food was delicious. Apart from the Inn there really isn’t anything else in Ettrickbridge so a having car and booking a table for dinner is essential. But as a secluded one night pit stop on our road trip it ticked all the boxes.

Really lovely country inn. Newly refurbished rooms, spotlessly clean (with lovely toiletries, fab range of complementary teas/coffees and beautiful bed linen & towels), very good varied menu, well cooked dinner, great breakfast. The friendly owner and staff were working their socks off at the busy weekend, smiling all the time and finding time to chat with all the guests which made it very homely. Such a lovely atmosphere. I have stayed often over the years for a local event, and the inn, particularly under its new ownership, really makes it a wonderful, relaxed weekend.

Great experience from a guest’s perspective. Idyllic location, very welcoming and warm Inn staff, and delicious food and drink. We really enjoyed our time there, also on account of the spacious, well equipped and very comfortable bedrooms. Rory and team really tool the time to make us feel at home. I heartily recommend The Cross Keys Inn, and will be back for sure.

Had 2 nights here, as part of a larger event. Truly great service, spacious rooms, great food (had diner and breakfast there. The owner himself was working hard and went above and beyond the make sure all was great. Will definitely visit again.

Had lunch here today with family. We were very disappointed. The last time we were here we had a lovely lunch. The menu today was not great to start with, very limited choice. To be fair the starters were lovely. Soup was good as were the mushrooms. The fish was over cooked and the chips were dry. The burger was the most tasteless I have ever had. No seasoning or onions which it said on the menu. The carbonara had lumps of fatty, grisly bacon. You could tell how disappointing the food was by the amount that was left on the plates.
