Good flights from Newcastle and 20 min transfer to the hotel. The reception is very nice with a piano bar, coffee bar, and cocktail bar. The room we had 6118 was very modern with a great shower. There was a free mini bar in the room which was spotlessly clean as is the whole hotel and grounds. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet with no noise at nigh. All the staff from the cleaners, gardeners, waiters, managers and everyone else are so friendly, they will do anything to help you. The food is great plenty of choice. It is all fresh and hot as is the a' la carte restaurants. You need to use the Riu app to book the a' la carte and you have to be quick so book as soon as soon as you get you wi-fi password. On saying that the wi-fi is pretty good. There are quite a few pools 2 of them with a swim up bar and also a small water park tucked away so you can't hear it while you relax near the pools. There are plenty sunbed's around the pools so even at say 10:30am you shouldn't have a problem getting a couple next to each other and there's plenty more on the beach. The beach is unreal !, very long with soft sand , no stones and very very clean. The sea does have quite a strong current so take notice of the lifeguards. Overall a brilliant hotel and we are already planning to go back later this year.

This hotel is amazing Just returned from a 10 night stay and it was idyllic Buffet food was delicious and lots of different choices Also 5 al la carte restaurants which you can book as many times as you want during your stay Branded spirits at the bars and optics in your room and the mini bar refreshed as often as you want. Plenty of sunbeds It’s a spacious hotel so you never feel as though you are in a crowd. Staff - they are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Cleanliness - amazing, there are staff constantly cleaning and an empty glass is taken immediately and the table wiped down. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, in fact we will definitely be going back!!!! Trips - would recommend the e-bikes tour (huge fun) and the adults only catamaran ( fab experience) Absolutely nothing negative to say, it was amazing!

Wow! Booked thanks to a recommendation from a colleague who visited last year. The hotel is clean, immaculately kept and the staff, especially waiting and cleaning staff is what makes for such a pleasant visit. As soon as you sit down for a meal, you are greeted with a smile and you're drink is promptly delivered. Plates are cleared. Staff constantly smiling and clearing away mess. The grounds are huge, I wondered how they cope, but it's thanks to the staff working around the clock. Never had to worry about getting a sunbed, there is enough space for everyone. Never felt crowded. Entertainment staff were amazing with numerous talented acts across the week we stayed. If you want to relax and do nothing you can, but if you want entertainment, staff are there during the day and evenings organising fun activities. Download the app, which we used twice. Once to ask for hand soap and once for water. By the time we came back to our room, all replenished. There are optics in the room for drinks, and ice machines on ground floor to block. You cannot want for anything here. Soft drinks, beer and water replenished in room too. I am used to staying at boutique hotels, so if I had to find a fault, I'd say it was huge and you couldn't just nip back to the room quickly. That may be something to consider if mobility is an issue. I like the large pools, swim up bars and large restaurants with options to book a la carte if you wish (through the app). Food was amazing for buffet with enough space for everyone. Absolutely faultless service throughout. Great fly and flop but I would recommend getting out. We saw the baby lemon sharks at Shark Bay and did a 4 hour electric bike tour to take in breathtaking views. The hotel is on a beautiful beach. A bit rough to swim but beautiful to watch the thundering waves in the afternoon. That you to all the staff for making our holiday to Cape Verde a memorable one x
