Meliá Llana & TUI On our arrival  08.08, we were welcomed by a lovely smile and a glass of persecco by Anderson. What a charming young man and so very professional too. On our first full day, 09.08, Evagreencoin gave us a few options and helped us explore different activities we could enjoy within the hotel. We decided to go with VIP all-inclusive, and what a great idea this was. It gave us access to all different areas, VIP breakfasts, which was absolutely delicious, and once again, the waitresses were very attentive. A delicious meal at the Nami restaurant, relaxing in the YHI and some amazing tunes with great (very strong) cocktails while at Bar Marley on the beach front. Reception staff (sorry if not  all of you are mentioned, but everyone was so helpful). All names and dates we had some kind of interaction with the staff at the front desk. Emerson 09.08 Lavianna 10.08 Mali 10.08 Kevin 10.08 Milania 11.08 Hélio 13.08 No matter how many times I called and told them about me (uses leaving the door open and allowing the little friends, aka mosquitos ), they were less than 10 minutes to come, sort the room. Rosiane 10.08 nails perfect beautiful human being who made me feel ultra special. My nails looked beautiful. I now have a friend for life. Truly felt like a friend and not a customer. Thank you x After my nail pamper session, we went to the level bar to relax, where Alex was very attentive and making sure our drinks were topped up. Keeping us all hydrated in the hot sunshine. TUI-Ramiro On 12.08, we (a group of 9 people) went on an island tour with TUI-Ramiro, who took us to some of the most beautiful sites on the island. We went to the blue eye (he made sure we were hydrated, had suncream and hats on while waiting to view the blue eye), we went to the salt lakes and floating on the water which was a weird experience, but our skins did feel like a baby's butt after Ramiro!!! , went to a small animal sanctuary, a lobster meal at a halfway stop, an indoor market, we all had a taste of locally brewed alcohol, and wow, was that strong or what?? We ended up buying 3 bottles and managed to get them home safely without breaking, which was great, too. The locals are very friendly. Back in the small bus we were travelling on, Ramiro gave us some cool 80s hits even sung along to Rick Astley - never gonna give you up with added hand movements. Honestly TUI, you are very lucky to have Ramiro on your team, he is funny, enthusiastic, has a vibrant energy, energetic and managed to keep 9 adults together (accepting the once he had to go seach for me shopping while they were waiting, he found me and again with a smile). Ramiro is a credit to your company! When we return, we want to specifically book Ramiro! Thanks, Ramiro! NO STRESS Catamaran day out was also so beautiful. We even saw a turtle when we anchored down. This was our first time in Cape Verde and we weren’t disappointed. The hotel is very clean and the food was lovely. Each day we were impressed with the quality. Our swim up room was perfect and couldn’t imagine not having that in the future. The only negative we found was all the different options to upgrade when we arrived. Having paid a generous amount to come it was disappointing to realise we were merely on a ‘budget’ package. We decided to upgrade on our last day and we could have done without it as what the hotel offers anyway is pretty good. We did have an expectation that there were more available restaurants as the place where we booked indicated this. Upgrading opens them up. Once upgraded there’s a Japanese restaurant but it’s only open 5 days for 2 hours so that was disappointing. The upgrade I think is great if you’re big drinkers or eaters and want to sample it all. We were happy with our standard package. This is definitely a slow paced holiday destination and the hotel matches this, it wasn’t full and was nice and quiet. Staff were all really good. Smoke free patios in the swim up lounges would be excellent. A coffee machine is only available in upgraded room even though we upgraded to a ‘delux swim up room.’ We did not have one. The hotel itself is lovely. The room was really good, and had everything we required. It was clean and tidy throughout the hotel. Food was ok, like others have said it’s warm rather than hot in the main buffet. There was a lot of variety and we could always find something. The day time snack bar was excellent. We ate here almost every day. We ate at the Italian one night and, again, food was very tasty, well cooked and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We ate one night at the pure Vida BBQ. Again food was good but people nearby had surf and turf and the prawns attracted swarms of flies - so many flies they moved but the flies moved with them. Then they didn’t finish their food. We don’t eat fish but the stench was so strong! One issue for us would be the lack of Choice on the all inclusive drinks. If you are a beer drinker there is just one beer - no choice! No cider, no ales. Not many cocktails and quite similar types. The pools were clean and the pool bar always good. The entertainment team in the day were ok. We enjoyed aqua aerobics. The night time entertainment was poor. There were a few good singers, guitarists and a saxophonist but that was an hour of entertainment. On two/three nights there was a show - enjoyable but again only an hour. There is a nightly DJ that plays until 2 am but don’t expect to hear any music you know! It was generally staff dancing to their African beats - thought they might cater for the guests but they didn’t. We were back in the room by 10.30pm. It seems that if you want entertainment you have to go to bikini bar or bar Marley - these seem to have a lot of entertainment but they are not part of the all inclusive. You have to pay for any food or drink which seems a bit of a con to be honest. You can upgrade for €50 per day but has to be a minimum of 3 days. It’s not all inclusive in the true sense. We had a small issue with cockroaches in our room that was dealt with by management appropriately after 2 days. Neilson on reception and another young bell boy came and got rid of then for us - thank you.

We booked the hotel and flights separately to get the swim up room I wanted. The room was part of The level within the hotel, this was wonderful from start to finish and I would recommend upgrading to it if you are able too. Lots of extra benefits including a WhatsApp group which means any little thing that needs sorting or you require happens almost instantly. Room, pools and food all good. You literally have the beach steps from the room. Limited entertainment but usually some music going on in one of the bars. You would be hard pushed to fault the hotel or the team. I would suggest like a previous reviewer you need lots and lots of repellent but this goes hand in hand with the climate. This is definitely a chill holiday. We will definitely be returning.

The hotel is very nice, the room was very clean and a good size, we opted for a sea front view room giving a great view. Only niggle with the room was cold water from taps was crystal clear however hot water had brown tinge to it. The facilities at the hotel were very good, I noticed a couple of wheelchair users who benefitted from good accessibility. The staff were generally very good and welcoming although we did notice some of the young male staff who huffed when asked for a menu or would ignore you when trying to order drinks or food, in short pretty ignorant, all the female staff were excellent. The pools were great all with easy availability to sun beds ( no having to beat the rush for a bed in the mornings). The main restaurant was buffet style as usual, there was always something to eat but this was not the standard expected for 5 star. Meat was generally overcooked and quite an odd choice of accompanying dishes. Good choice of sweets though. Melia have built three hotels in a row at the location, they look great but outside of this area don't expect anything else other than the beach. Essentially what we saw of the island is that it is a work in progress which will take a good while to get to the same level (very sparse and barren) as more established resorts. In short, lovely hotel, great beach, ( warned about not swimming due to under currents in sea), Food needs improving, but lovely getaway for a week by the pool in the sun at a very attractive price.

Had a fab time with my girl at this resort. I celebrated my 25th in the best resort in Sal.They cater to all your needs. Huge thanks to Lentino, Anapaula,Heidy, Kelvin (klein ), Daniel and Mys. We enjoyed our chill days and partied with guest and staff on the lit days. I’m about to enjoy a treatment at the spa. So much serenity in this place. Huge thanks again!
