Hotel - Odjo d´Agua

This was my favorite place for a drink during our stay in Sal. Gorgeous beach side cafe and reataurant. We only went for drinks in the afternoon so the place was quiet, we enjoyed cold wine in the sun watching the waves. What else do you need in a holiday? The hotel is locally owned family business, so we gladly support them.

My family & I ate in the restaurant on the Pier for dinner on the 2nd March and what a disaster it was. Worst restaurant ever starting from the staff through to the food. When we arrived, we had to seat ourselves - no welcome. After 50 minutes our drinks had still not arrived despite us asking 2 times. Food itself took 1 hour, 45 minutes for the starters to arrive & that was also after asking numerous times. I ended up having to ask for a Manager and even that person was hiding. Food was not at all tasty and presentation was very poor. The staff were rude and actually thought our wait time for food was normal. Definitely not a restaurant I would recommend.

Been coming to the island for 20 years and this is our favourite restaurant but tonight was disappointing! Our starters arrived 10 minutes apart tho we both had shrimp! Our main tho delicious ( tuna) was stone cold & the extra side dishes arrived when we’d finished! We declined the veg for that reason ! The staff did their best and a rather officious lady appeared to take our payment as if we might be trouble!! We left an 8 euro tip even tho the experience wasn’t as we would have wanted or expected! We come every year sometimes twice a year to the island and we’re staying at the Morabeza hotel… we had thought that next time we might stay here but I don’t think we will…

Must admit when we were driving up to the hotel, I was a bit sceptical as the entrance was stuck in a corner, but I was really pleasantly surprised. Lovely, quaint hotel & very clean. The room was a great size & our balcony looked over a grassed courtyard. However the front opened onto the street which could be quite noisy at times. There was also no hot water for the whole of our weeks stay. There were no instructions on how to use the safe & we did ask at reception, but no-one came. Pool & pool bar is really nice, although the salt water pool was freezing. Also the bar wasn't open in the evening. Paying €4 pp for a sunbed each day, even around the pool isn't on really. It should be free! The breakfast staff weren't friendly, but the guys round the pool were. Overall holiday was great though

Went to their waterside side restuarant for dinner and it was truly fabulous. We were lucky to get a table as they were really busy. So glad we did as the food and service were delicious. We had a bottle of local red wine, bread olives and cheese to start and beef mignion in a gorgeous sauce with salad followed by complimentary liquors We were served by Trevor and the singer and pianist added to the ambiance The place is very quirky too

We have previously stayed at this hotel. We returned on a Sunday evening for dinner. The lower terrace overlooks the sea and it’s great to dine hearing the sea water lapping against the walls of the hotel. Food was really excellent and very good value. Totally recommend this hotel fora lovely dinner
