Not impressed. Been to this hotel a few times but not again Beds not comfy. Food bland and small portions for Germany Breakfast selection small and cold by English standards

We stayed in this wonderful hotel when visiting for the wine festival. The staff were absolutely lovely, so friendly and welcoming. Our room was perfect for our stay. It was quite hot so the hotel staff provided us with a fan which cooler the room down perfectly. Breakfast was delicious and there was a great range of things to choose from. All the food was very fresh, well prepared and presented well. This is a beautiful town and the hotel is perfectly situated. A fabulous visit and we will definitely be booking again! Thank you Hotel Felsenkeller!

Great hotel. However, be carefull when parking. I used the public car park and walked down to the hotel because the road situation was chaotic. I had paid to use the hotel car park. I was advised of the location of the hotel car park and then that I had a grace period in the public car park. It had taken me 25 min and 49 sec to walk down and back and I have been fined 45 Euros. Mobility Hub is the name of the rip-off parking company. My advice, don't visit Rudesheim if you don't like being ripped off.

I stayed here for 3 nights with a coach tour. The room was very clean and warm with a modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Breakfast buffet was excellent with hot and cold choices. Evening meal was set 3 course and was very good. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed evening drinks in the bar. Just be aware that the hotel is a fair walk on a slope from the coach/car park and there are stairs before you can get to the lift. Otherwise I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Although very central the hotel lacked amenities no air con given a fan but it was more like a turbo jet so couldn’t leave it on at night no phone to contact reception flight of steep stairs to get to lift. Limited menu but ok if you like chicken ..

Overall, we were very happy with our stay here. The rooms were clean, spacious and the location was perfect. Breakfast was amazing and well organized. It was a wonderful surprise to find a pot of coffee and a place card with our name at our table. That was a very special touch that put a big smile on our faces. We only have two complaints. First, the rooms aren't equipped with air conditioners so we had to ask for fans which helped a little but not entirely. Luckily the weather was a tad cool so that helped a little. Second, there was a list displayed in the room with personal care products available at the front desk. We assumed these were available for free of charge since the list did NOT indicate a charge. When the lady manager handed the product to us, she didn't say anything about a price. When we got our bill at check out, we were surprised to find a 5 euro charge for a razor kit. Also, if you need a bottle of water, don't purchase it at the hotel. We paid 7 euro for a regular bottle of water which was available in town for 1 euro. I know it's not much but it put a damper on our wonderful stay here as I don't like to be taken advantage of. Other than that, we were happy with our stay here and would return in the future.

Staff enter your room at any time. Enjoy being woken up everyday around 8 in the morning by staff banging on your door loudly for 2 seconds before storming in. Or enjoy stepping out of the shower to your door suddenly being unlocked and flung open. In addition to this exciting game of "when will I be disturbed or harrassed?" you can enjoy the unventilated rooms. There is no AC, but there is a lovely fan which has not ever been cleaned and has years of dust and dirt built up on it. If you want even more excitement, the jet engine sound of the fan makes you feel like you are truly traveling, like your plane is about to take off at any moment. Breakfast is bland and there was only water, coffee and tea. When telling the hotel reception about the issue of staff coming in to the room at any time, initially they were apologetic and said that this shouldnt happen before 10.00. When I later ask for compensation on the hotel bill, (less than 10%), the story was completely different. Apparently we didn't understand how hotels worked and we were not normal guests. According to the manager we should expect the staff to come into our rooms any moment, day or night. Maybe 5 in the morning even. Trying to have a rational discussion was impossible with the man and the woman working there. After a few minutes of me stating my complaints the couple starts complaining about the world being horrible and against them and how they are a horrible hotel, and tell us to "f off". When asked why they would say that when we are simply talking, they try to gaslight us accusing us of saying such a thing. So apparently, the hotel policy, according to the owner, is to at any time feel the right to have staff barge into your room. Day and night. And don't expect to check out in peace. They will clean (really just making the bed by the looks of it) your room before you can check out, meaning that the next guests will most likely get used stuff in their room since previous guests don't check out until after the room is cleaned. This place and these people need to seriously re-evaluate themselves

A very comfortable clean and friendly hotel, the staff were very helpful, the room were clean, The restaurant was if a high standard . There was a good selection for breakfast and dinner was good every evening.

This hotel is desperately in need of renovation. Our room, 603, was very cold, the radiator was hot at the top but cold at the bottom, the host was very rude and aggressive to us when we asked for a heater, he shouted at my wife in German and when she said she didn't understand he said "well learn German!" I have travelled all over Germany working and on holiday I have never been treated so badly, Germans are usually very eager to please. Food was poor, cheap and tasteless.

We stayed for three nights at this hotel. Its position in the town is great, the food is very nice served by friendly staff, the room was of a good standard. Rudesheim is a lovely place to explore. If visiting the lovely town the Felsenkeller is a very good choice.

Das Hotel hat eine wundervolle Lage – mitten im Herzen der Altstadt von Idstein. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, tatsächlich handelt es sich um ein Familienhotel mit einer interessanten Geschichte. Die Zimmer sind sauber, komfortable, ohne Luxus. Vielleicht wären ein paar dekorative Kissen auf dem Sofa eine gute Ergänzung für mehr Sitzkomfort. Die Matratze hat Federkern, was für empfindlichere Gäste spürbar sein könnte und den Schlaf beeinträchtigen kann. Das Badezimmer ist sauber, aber es wäre renovierungsbedürftig. Die Fliesen sind abgenutzt und stellenweise beschädigt, in den Fugen gibt es Schimmel, der sich nicht mehr vollständig entfernen lässt. Das Frühstück war für mich leider eine große Enttäuschung – sehr einfach gehalten, keine warmen Speisen. Es gab ein paar Brotsorten, verschiedene Sorten Wurst und Käse, etwas Gurken und Tomaten, drei Sorten Marmelade, drei Sorten Fruchtsaft, Tee, Kaffee und Milch. Interessant waren die kleinen Gläser mit Joghurt und Müsli – leider war eines davon verdorben und roch stark nach Essig. Positiv hervorzuheben ist die große Schale mit Bananen und unglaublich leckeren Äpfeln. Mein Tipp: Nehmen Sie sich gerne einen Apfel mit und genießen Sie stattdessen ein leckeres Frühstück in einem der umliegenden Cafés – dort gibt es köstliche Croissants, Pfannkuchen, Brezeln und eine deutlich angenehmere Atmosphäre. Selbst die Backtheken von Rewe und Edeka bieten eine bessere Frühstücksauswahl als das, was mir während meines einwöchigen Aufenthalts hier serviert wurde.

Das Hotel ist super gelegen, direkt neben der Seilbahn. Drosselgasse, Wein- und andere Restaurants, Parkplatz - alles in nächster Nähe. Auch das sehr aufmerksame, hilfsbereite und freundliche Hotelierpaar hinterlässt einen super Eindruck.
