The Glenrock

If you want to avoid the crowds of Ella and yet get the same experience then Belihuloya is the place. And if you decide on Belihuloya, Glenrock is a great option. Very comfortable large rooms, set in the wild. The majority of the staff are from the village but well trained in the hospitality industry. There are plenty of activities in the area and includes religious, cultural and nature related activities. The Spa / massage overlooking the river is very restful and enjoyable. The river baths with the fish giving you a free therapy session is fun.

This resort is a hidden gem located by the Belihuloya River, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. It’s an ideal spot for bird enthusiasts, with a wide variety of bird species in the area. We had a fantastic stay, especially enjoying our room with its beautiful river view. The spacious two-story rooms were a highlight. What truly stood out was the staff—they were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We felt like we had discovered a tranquil retreat that combines rustic charm with serene surroundings. The cozy rooms, nestled in lush greenery, provided breathtaking views of the rolling hills. The resort’s activities were impressive, and we particularly enjoyed visiting Pahanthudawa Water Falls and exploring the picturesque rural village with its vibrant green landscape.

Glenrock is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Behilul Oya village. The breathtaking views of the surrounding village and the serene river that flows through the resort was a treat to our soul. From the moment we arrived, the exceptional service provided by the staff made us feel completely at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, and memorable. The Glenrock. This resort is a wonderful place, nestled at one end by the Belihuloya River. Surrounded by nature, it is a haven for bird watchers with numerous bird species around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the room we stayed in, which overlooked the river. The two-story rooms are very spacious. The most amazing part is the staff; they are incredibly helpful and friendly. I discovered a hidden paradise that seamlessly blends rustic charm with tranquil surroundings. The cozy rooms provided a perfect sanctuary amidst lush greenery, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills. The activities offered by the resort are stunning. We visited Pahanthudawa Water Falls, and the beauty of the rural village with its green environment is amazing.

18th Dec 2018...Me and my wife spent our honeymoon at "Glenrock" & it was the best two days of our life. We really loved the amazing surroundings of "Glenrock", mountains and surreal views.The food was amazing! Many varieties and they were all delicious... (my mouth still waters :) ). In addition I must specially mention the wonderful staff. I have visited many hotels around the island but I never came across a committed and a friendly staff like at "Glenrock". Prasanna, Pradeep and many other staff members whom I sadly cannot recall the names including two chefs, who are valuable assets of 'Glenrock' . All this lead to the decision, that to visit "Glenrock" every year on our anniversary. Thank you "Glenrock" for making our Honeymoon memorable and unforgettable!!

My and my Fiance stayed over at The Glenrock over the weekend and what a wonderful visit it was. Great Views, Comfortable rooms and a pleasant staff made the stay even more wonderful. Highly recommend this great location to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!

Amazing location next to the water falls and rice fields. Rooms were gorgeous with the balcony where we could sit down and watch the birds and listen to the water drinking a cup a tea. Staff from checking to checkout were amazing and very helpful. To mention a few names of staff who went above and beyond to help us were Sadaruwan chef. He made us some authentic srilankan dishes as well superb western dishes we wanted.Thank you for those yummy dishes. Rosantha and Nilantha such helpful and caring staff who were there to help us in any way they can. Thank you very much to both of you. Also can’t forget the manager Priyantha who up graded us to a chalet as our travel agent booked us a wrong chalet. Thank you Priyantha for handling the situation well. Glenrock is truly a gem nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes. During our stay at the end of March 2024, we were captivated by the mesmerizing views of mountains and paddy fields, creating a picturesque setting that felt straight out of a postcard. The gentle flow of the Balihuloya stream added a serene soundtrack to our stay, enhancing the tranquil ambiance. We opted for the family villa cabana C4, and it exceeded our expectations. The panoramic view of the mountains and river from our cabana was simply spectacular. The private river access was a delightful bonus, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature at our leisure. The service at Glenrock was commendable, with special thanks to Lahiru for his attentive and courteous assistance throughout our stay. However, it was disappointing that the hotel did not mention the credit card offer during the booking process, missing an opportunity for guests to avail themselves of potential benefits. But after contacting many people they finally sorted it out. While our overall experience was positive, we did encounter a few issues. There was a noticeable odor, reminiscent of a decomposing rodent, within our room, which detracted from our comfort. Additionally, upon arrival, we found the bath tab only half-filled and noticed insects in the water, raising hygiene concerns. Although explanations were provided upon inquiry, it left us feeling uneasy. On a brighter note, the Sri Lankan cuisine served at Glenrock was a culinary delight. From the flavorful pol roti to the delectable pancakes, each dish was a delightful exploration of local flavors, leaving our taste buds thoroughly satisfied. In conclusion, despite encountering some minor setbacks, our stay at Glenrock was a memorable retreat into nature's embrace. The stunning surroundings, coupled with warm hospitality and delicious cuisine, made for an unforgettable experience. We would certainly consider returning to this idyllic heaven in the future.

An eco friendly hidden place in Belihuloya. Best place to stay and have some quality time with family and friends while enjoying the wonder of nature. The location is right next to the Belihul Oya and the staff will guide you to the Pahanthudawa waterfall as well. Very friendly staff and the food was amazing.
