Black Rhino Game Lodge

Absolutely amazing stay at Black Rhino. The rooms were fabulous, beds extremely comfortable, food delicious and the game drives were out of this world. Our guide was Dolphie - he made the experience. Extremely knowledgeable and he went out his way to make sure we saw as much as we could. The only negative was that we didn’t stay there longer !! Will definitely return.

Excellent game reserve, great accommodation and food. Staff were amazing and friendly. Saw so many animals. Our game driver and guide, Dolfie was awesome. Highly recomend Dolfie. Very knowledgeable, found all the wild life, was enormous fun and gave us so many memories. Dolfie's a legend and would have anyone else. Black Rhino Lodge is the best.

Animal droppings in room and on bed, no electricity for entire night, no-one to speak to, no one answering phones, no apology from management. Really appalling experience.

No power in the room for first full night, no lighting, air con, fridge etc. Tried calling repeatedly for assistance but no answer and no answer to WhatsApp message. Next evening came into room to find animal droppings all over the place including on the bed. Reported to management and received the most disgraceful response along the lines of "it's nature, not much to do about it". Had to move to different accommodation and the management refused our request for refund.

An unforgettable experience for our whole stay. We booked for a 2 night stay but after only being at the lodge a couple of hours, wished we had planned one more night, or two…..or three…. The food was excellent, breakfast, high tea and dinner was well presented and tasty. The menu choice was varied each day, and in my opinion great value for what we paid. The staff were friendly, helpful and just lovely! Our ranger, Freedom, was excellent!! We had the same ranger for our stay. There were three ranges and each group has a dedicated ranger, which is a nice personal touch. (I am sure all the rangers are the same at this lodge judging from comments from all the groups) The passion, professionalism & responsibility, Freedom has for his role really showed. Freedom’s knowledge and years of experience, led to us enjoying such amazing experiences. I have been on a few safari’s from childhood to adulthood and with only 2 days on this trip have seen and experienced more in what may have taken days to be seen- we must have been really lucky! I could keep going with loads more to positive things to say, and despite a couple of hiccups which was sorted out, in all, we would definitely go back again! Thanks Black Rhino Lodge it was AWESOME!

This was truly an experience to remember! I love seeing wild animals in their habitat without human intervention or interference. We saw the big 5 animals. We had 2 tours a day (3 days total) 5:30 mornings and 5:30 afternoons. We come back from each trip with dancers awaiting and a delicious buffet. This is something you can’t miss while in So. Africa!
