Black Rhino Game Lodge

Absolutely amazing stay at Black Rhino. The rooms were fabulous, beds extremely comfortable, food delicious and the game drives were out of this world. Our guide was Dolphie - he made the experience. Extremely knowledgeable and he went out his way to make sure we saw as much as we could. The only negative was that we didn’t stay there longer !! Will definitely return.

Excellent game reserve, great accommodation and food. Staff were amazing and friendly. Saw so many animals. Our game driver and guide, Dolfie was awesome. Highly recomend Dolfie. Very knowledgeable, found all the wild life, was enormous fun and gave us so many memories. Dolfie's a legend and would have anyone else. Black Rhino Lodge is the best.

Black Rhino lodge was amazing! The staff were lovely, the facilities were so so good, the rooms were fantastic but most of all the safari game drives were epic. Pilanesberg is a beautiful place but what made our game drives so amazing was our guide Dolfi. I have done quite a lot of safaris across Africa and I can say without a doubt that Dolfi is the best guide I have ever had on safari. He is so knowledgeable about animals and the land, he has an amazing eye for spotting animals, and he is the friendliest guy you will ever meet. If you want to go on safari in Africa, definitely choose Black Rhino lodge!

FROM OR TAMBO AIRPORT TAKING MAGALIESBERG HARTEBEESPORT DAM ROAT it took us about 2:45 minutes which we took a 30 minutes shopping time halfway to the destination. Before we could even reach our lodge we have spotted Hippo, Buffalo and Rhino before game drive . The beauty and the reception we received when enter the Lodge it was out of this world

I don't wanna drag the lodge into the dirt, but we were kinda disappointed of the overall experience. The food, the property, the drinks/snacks during the game drives were all not anywhere close to what you'd expect when booking a $400+ accommodation. Yes, the game drives were included the entire staff was very friendly, the property is pretty okay and the rooms decent, but again, we simply expected more - especially in South Africa where even top hotels cost max. $100-150. $250-300 for all that a lodge provides on top of a normal hotel stay is way beyond what would be appropriate. Please improve walkways, pools, afternoon tea, breakfast/dinner selection of foods, this is not enough. Greetings!

We spent 3 days at Black Rhino in December and I haven't stopped raving about it since. We were incredibly luckily with how much we saw, but there is an abundance of wildlife and I don't think we would have been disappointed even if we had not seen quite as much. Our guide Dolphe (not sure of spelling) was brilliant, very knowledgeable and created a great atmosphere. The lodge was lovely, plenty of spaces to sit and relax during the day and the food was very good. We really liked the atmosphere, you are really there for the game drives and the feeling is quite relaxed and down to earth, but if might be worth mentioning if you are expecting activities in the day then you will need to leave the lodge, there is no gym/spa etc on site, the lodge is very quiet and peaceful between meal times. We've been to several game parks and this is our best experience so far would definitely recommend.
